The Young People’s Chorus of New York City (YPC) is a multicultural youth chorus internationally renowned for its superb virtuosity, brilliant showmanship, and innovative model of diversity. Founded by Artistic Director Francisco J. Núñez, a MacArthur Fellow and Musical America’s 2018 Educator of the Year, YPC’s mission and values are deeply rooted in providing children of all cultural and economic backgrounds with a unique music education program and choral performance. YPC is committed to empowering youth and providing pathways to success through the arts so that each child, regardless of race, gender, socioeconomic background, or religion, can reach their full potential. Today, YPC’s 2,000 choristers perform on NYC’s celebrated stages and travel around the world as cultural ambassadors. Position Overview
YPC seeks a Part-time (3 days a week), highly organized and entrepreneurial individual to join our development team. The Development Associate will play a vital role in supporting all of YPC’s development and outreach activities to ensure the success of the organization’s fundraising goals. The individual will report to the Director of Development and works closely with all members of the Development and Finance teams, as well as other staff members. This position will help manage all funding streams and is ideal for someone who likes to maintain a database system, increase efficiency, problem-solve, and has a “can do” approach. It will involve robust writing and research skills, attention to detail, and professionalism on all communication channels.

Qualifications Required:
A bachelor’s degree and a minimum of two years of experience in nonprofit fundraising, communications, marketing or equivalent experience. The ideal person should be highly motivated with a self-starter attitude and have the ability to consistently achieve results with excellence. The ideal candidate should possess the following strengths:
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships across the organization
