    Descripción

Established in March of 2025, May Day Strong (MDS) launched a multi-year campaign for community and worker justice responding both to the rise of authoritarianism and to the UAW’s call to align contract expiration across all bargaining units, sectors, and geographies for May 1, 2028. We are currently building a robust campaign marked by an escalating series of actions that culminates in mass actions by working people and community residents that will stake out bold new demands for the common good and change the terrain of what's possible via militant community-labor struggle. When unions and community coalitions organize across industries, sectors, and geographies, our collective power grows exponentially. When union power combines with community power, a united working class offers our best chance of defending against the billionaire takeover and our greatest hope for transformative change at the scale and pace that’s required. To achieve this, we must equip the movement to take action and achieve material victories now, with 2028 as a strategic flashpoint rather than imagined future.
