Title: Development Consultant
Position: 20 hours/week at $75/hour (contracted)
Location: Remote with occasional travel. Right to work in the US is not a requirement.
Reports to: Executive Director
OVERVIEW
The International Center for Community Land Trusts (CLT Center) is a not-for-profit nongovernmental organization established in 2018 to promote and support community land trusts and similar strategies of community-led development on community-owned land in countries throughout the world. As the go-to global resource for information about CLTs, the CLT Center provides essential knowledge, tools, and support to practitioners, policymakers, and advocates worldwide.
From our start as an all-volunteer organization seven years ago, we have grown into a well-recognized organization within the global community-led housing movement. Each month brings new partnership opportunities with organizations around the world interested in exploring how CLTs can help provide security of tenure and provide access to safe, decent, and affordable housing. Now, our challenge is to secure a long-term base of funding to enable us to meet the demand for our services and continue to grow our team.
We are seeking a seasoned development consultant to help lead our fundraising efforts. This contracted position will work twenty (20) hours per week in close collaboration with our Executive Director, Director of Communications, project consultants, as well as board members who are actively engaged in fundraising efforts with a focus on building relationships with funders inside and outside the US that lead to support for both program initiatives as well as operations. Candidates outside the US are encouraged to apply.
While this position does not require a background in CLTs, it does require a background in community development and a deep appreciation for the importance of community-led efforts to address the challenges of affordable housing, security of tenure, and localized food systems (to name a few of the applications of the CLT).
Lastly, as with all members of our team, this position will serve as an ambassador of the international CLT movement, both in individual meetings as well as in public forums.
We are committed to building a diverse and inclusive team. We strongly encourage candidates from all backgrounds, communities, and identities to apply.
