    POSITION OVERVIEW

    • The Social Media Coordinator creates and executes social content to support organizational and departmental programmatic goals. The successful candidate will be creative, strategic, selfstarter, team player, results-

    driven, and well organized. Under the guidance and supervision of the Marketing Manager and Executive Director of Advancement, this role oversees social media for the entire EDCJCC, spanning early childhood, youth, and family (including our preschool), fitness center, membership, social responsibility, Jewish life and holidays, arts and culture, and more.

    This position will play a key role in amplifying the EDCJCC’s Centennial Year (2026), helping tell the story of our first 100 years and shaping a bold and celebratory digital presence that reflects where we’re headed in our next century.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Social Media Management

    • Develop, with the Marketing Manager, and execute a social media strategy that increases engagement, reach, and brand consistency across Facebook, Instagram, and emerging platforms.
    • Brainstorm and execute social-first campaigns aligned with seasonal, programmatic, and institutional priorities, including holidays, fundraising, and major events.
    • Manage posting schedules and content calendars for all JCC social platforms.
    • Monitor trends, platform updates, and best practices to keep content fresh and effective.
    • Track analytics and performance metrics; produce monthly reports with insights to inform future strategy.
    • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and engagement opportunities in a timely, community-centered way.
    • Ensure all content aligns with EDCJCC brand guidelines and voice.

    Content Creation & Community Storytelling

    • Create, edit, and publish compelling social content (including but not limited to photos, graphics, videos, and stories).
    • Use graphic design and video editing software to produce original, high-quality, on-brand visuals and captions for social platforms and paid campaigns.
    • Capture on-the-ground content throughout the building, including classes, events, festivals, and community gatherings.
    • Write engaging copy for social posts and digital ads; support email marketing copy as needed.
    • Partner with staff across departments to source stories, identify program highlights, and elevate community voices.

    Centennial Storytelling & Campaign Support

    • Support the development and execution of digital storytelling for the EDCJCC’s Centennial Year, helping to share the story of our first 100 years and our vision for the next.
    • Create social-first content that highlights impact stories, legacy leaders, archival moments, and Centennial programs and events.
    • Collaborate with the Institutional Advancement team to ensure Centennial milestones, campaigns, and key moments are reflected consistently across social platforms.

    Paid Social & Digital Advertising

    • Support the planning, execution, and optimization of paid social media campaigns across platforms (primarily Meta/Facebook and Instagram).
    • Collaborate with the Marketing Manager on campaign goals, audience targeting, creative assets, and timelines.
    • Assist with building and managing paid social ads using approved creative, copy, and budgets; test formats, audiences, and messaging to improve performance.
    • Contribute to post-campaign reporting and analysis to inform future paid and organic social strategies.

    Cross-Department & Communications Support

    • Support basic public relations and community visibility efforts, including posting event listings to relevant community, cultural, and media calendars.
    • Assist with outreach to community partners and local outlets as needed to help promote programs, festivals, and institutional initiatives.
    • Assist with website updates and email marketing efforts when social media intersects with broader communications or PR campaigns.
    • Support institutional initiatives, brand campaigns, and special projects as needed.

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • 1–3 years of experience in social media management, content creation, digital marketing, communications, or a related field.
    • Strong writing skills with an eye for compelling visual storytelling and design.
    • Proficiency managing social platforms, native analytics, and paid advertising tools.
    • Experience using graphic design and video tools such as Adobe Creative Suite.
    • Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, community-centered environment.
    • Creative, detail-oriented, and comfortable collaborating across teams.
    • Passion for community-building, Jewish communal life, arts & culture, and/or mission-driven work (no prior Jewish organizational experience required).
    • Comfort with photography and videography, including capturing on-the-ground content and basic video editing preferred but not required.

    Compensación

    • Competitive starting salary of $65,000, aligned with the non-profit sector.

    • Full-time position with a preference for in-person work; hybrid schedules are possible. Staff are required to be in the Washington, DC office at least three days per week.

    Instrucciones:

    REQUIREMENTS

    This role includes occasional evening and weekend in-person work to capture event content. Flexible hours and schedule adjustments are available to accommodate late-night or weekend commitments.

    The role requires frequent movement throughout the building, including walking, standing for extended periods, navigating stairs, and moving between locations such as the gym, preschool, festivals, and community service events. The ability to meet these physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, is required.
