Industry: Global Media for Social Impact

    Remote | Global Focus | Full-time | Start: ASAP

Join us at the forefront of storytelling that moves the world.

PVI (Peripheral Vision International) is looking for a visionary, globally-minded Co-Executive Director to help lead our organization alongside our current Executive Director. With a focus on development and external representation, you will help shape our fundraising strategy, build transformative partnerships, pitch fundable ideas that resonate with purpose, and bring the voice of PVI to global stages.

    About PVI

PVI is a Peabody Award nominated media nonprofit on a mission to cultivate consciousness at scale across sub-Saharan Africa and beyond. We harness storytelling and mass media to spark dialogue, elevate marginalized voices, and fuel movements for justice, health, and equity.

From its early roots creating and distributing advocacy videos in East Africa, to producing award-winning TV hits that have aired on 80+ broadcast channels around the world, PVI has evolved into a pioneer of entertainment-education for youth. Our work has reached tens of millions of people and been featured by CNN, The New Yorker, NPR, and The Guardian—and we’re just getting started.

We believe that powerful media doesn’t just inform—it transforms. And we’re growing. Fast.

    Your Mission

As the Co-Executive Director, you’ll be the driving force behind our fundraising strategy and external voice—building the financial engine and strategic visibility that power our programs.

    What You’ll Do:

    Lead Strategic Fundraising Initiatives

    • Proactively identify and secure multi-year funding from philanthropic foundations, development agencies, major donors, and aligned corporate partners.
    • Build a sustainable funding model that balances bold vision with grounded strategy.

    Cultivate Donor Relationships

    • Serve as the lead relationship-builder for PVI’s donor base—creating lasting connections through consistent stewardship, tailored updates, and thoughtful engagement.
    • Ensure that every supporter feels the impact of their investment.

    Represent PVI on Global Stages

    • Be the voice of PVI at conferences, summits, convenings, and media interviews.
    • Confidently share our story with audiences ranging from grassroots communities to diplomatic audiences.

    Shape and Pitch Fundable Ideas

    • Collaborate with program teams to shape creative concepts into compelling, fundable proposals.
    • Align pitches with global funding trends and opportunities in media for development.

    Drive Visibility and Thought Leadership

    • Author thought pieces, speak on panels, and join global conversations around media and narrative change.
    • Build PVI’s reputation as a bold, values-driven innovator in social impact storytelling.

    Co-Lead Organizational Strategy

    • Work hand-in-hand with the Co-Executive Director to drive long-term strategy, align program and funding pipelines, and lead a values-aligned organization into its next chapter. Your Co-Executive Director will focus on maintaining operations and program oversight while you gain experience and familiarity with PVI’s workings.

    What We’re Looking For

    • 6+ years in nonprofit development, philanthropy, or social enterprise leadership, preferably in global development, media, or human rights. That said, we’re open to candidates from adjacent sectors—what matters most is personality fit. If you’re an articulate storyteller who can pitch with conviction and clarity, you’re our kind of person.
    • A dynamic communicator with a track record of securing six- and seven-figure funding deals.
    • Global mindset and deep cultural fluency, with particular experience in sub-Saharan Africa and/or Global South contexts.
    • Confident and polished public speaker who can represent PVI across borders and sectors.
    • Entrepreneurial spirit and strategic operator with a love for big ideas and creative pitches.
    • Alignment with PVI’s mission, values, and vision of equity, justice, and radical empathy through storytelling.
    • You must have the legal right to work in the US.

    What We Offer

    • The opportunity to co-lead a globally recognized creative nonprofit at the cutting edge of media and movement-building.
    • A fully remote role with flexible hours and a passionate, mission-aligned team.
    • Opportunities to travel globally for conferences, convenings, and impact storytelling.
    • Health and retirement benefits, plus a base salary in the range of $90,000–$120,000, commensurate with experience and location, plus performance-based bonus potential.
