The Food Research & Action Center (FRAC) seeks a talented and experienced anti-hunger, nutrition, and anti-poverty advocate to fill the position of Senior Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) Policy Analyst working to strengthen SNAP access and benefit adequacy. This position works closely with the SNAP Director and, while the role is primarily remote, significant priority will be given to candidates based in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area, including nearby Northern Virginia and Maryland suburbs.
The successful candidate will seek ways to improve the SNAP’s reach and support for low-income households, including people and families working their way up the economic ladder. The ultimate goal is to ensure that SNAP can bolster food security, health and well-being, serve customers with dignity, and make positive impacts for a robust and equitable economy. This position offers opportunities to work in coalition with FRAC’s national, state, and local partners and to expand their experience as a program analyst, strategist, coalition builder and project manager.

To attain this mission, FRAC engages in research, policy analysis and advocacy, coalition-building, outreach, technical assistance and training, and an array of communications strategies. In partnership with hundreds of national, state, and local nonprofit organizations, public agencies, corporations, and labor organizations, FRAC addresses hunger and food insecurity, and poverty as their root cause.

Salary/Benefits
The salary range for this position is $70,000 - $88,800, plus a generous benefits package that includes health, retirement, and additional offerings. FRAC’s normal office hours are between 9:00 am and 5:30 pm Eastern Time. This position is part of a union and is covered under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
