Job Summary:
Reporting to the VP, Development, the Manager, Donor Relations oversees Family Equality’s comprehensive donor engagement and stewardship program including corporate and foundation grant deliverables. Collaborating with the Marketing and Communications team, The Manager, Donor Relations works closely with the Marketing and Communications team to ensure that all donors are recognized as they wish, understand the organization’s fiscal accountability and experience the impact and outcomes of their investment in Family Equality.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Donor Stewardship: Develop and manage a comprehensive donor stewardship program and calendar for all donors that includes:
- Donor recognition and financial accountability,
- Reporting on restricted funds usage and outcomes,
- Demonstration of the impact and outcomes of giving to donors at all levels.
- In the first year, the Manager will be charged with particular attention on engagement of new donors, monthly donors, and donors of between $1,000 and $4,999.
- Grant Agreement Execution: With the Senior Manager, Corporate & Foundation Giving, administer contracts and partnership agreements, including tracking, execution and reporting on deliverables, to ensure compliance and timely follow-up.
- Special Events: Support the Development team in leveraging fundraising and non-fundraising events to engage donors at all stages of their relationship with the organization.
- Lead logistical implementation of House Parties throughout the country, supporting hosts and the Development team
- Support the donor experience before, during, and after marquis fundraising events, including working with Event and Board committees and outside consultants
- Cross Team Collaboration: Working with the Marketing and Communications department, design and deliver strong stories of the impact of giving on the work of Family Equality
- Major Gift Engagement: Provide custom donor engagement support to the VP, Development, especially related to Development Committee, Board and Advisory Council fundraising activities.

Qualifications
- An articulated belief in the mission of Family Equality, and the importance of the LGBTQ+ movement
- 3-5 years of experience in development, marketing & communications or transferable skills
- Some graphic design capabilities are a plus
- Proficiency with CRM systems; Salesforce strongly preferred
- Excellent communication skills, emphasizing strong creative and business writing with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams
- Proficient with office technologies (Google suite, Microsoft Office, etc.) and a desire to continuously improve systems and processes.
