GENERAL SUMMARY
The Pure Truth Director is responsible for the overall development, implementation, and operation of the abstinence education program of GHM. This includes the training and management of all volunteers, and the implementation of necessary programs to facilitate the abstinence education program in schools, churches, and organizations. The positions requires some hours in-office and in-school but offers some work-from-home flexibility.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Management
- Provide biannual training and scheduling for volunteer instructors.
- Promote for and recruit new volunteer instructors.
- Lead the scholarship committee with compilations of applications, discussion meetings, and correspondence.
- Coordinate scholarship applicant interviews.
School Networking
- Update and implement curriculum for in-school instruction.
- Communicate with schools/districts of any changes per the curriculum adoption.
- Teach as needed in schools.
- Summarize and record student and teacher evaluations (produced post-session).
- Collect and answer student notecard questions for Q&A session, for the last day of school session.
- Communicate with school contacts (i.e., teacher, counselor, principal) with any changes of schedule, class times, school closings, etc., as well as any follow-up needed.
- Present program to school boards, SHAC committees, school administrators, etc.
- Provide schools with scholarship applications.
- Give direction on the Pure Truth website.
- Maintain and update social media accounts.
- Keep Pure Truth curriculum relevant, authentic, and accurate.
Community Networking
- Award scholarship winners.
- Plan and lead
Pure Truth for Parents events including promoting, preparing curriculum, securing meal and venue, and teaching along with volunteer instructor(s).
- Communicate with local churches and organizations for retreats, day events, etc. to assist in promotion of purity and truth.
Staff Development
- Participate in meetings as needed with Executive Director and staff of other branches of GHM.
- Compose monthly GHM board reports.
Public Relations
- Represent GHM in the community as delegated by the Executive Director.
- Represent GHM (Pure Truth) in school-based forums that would help promote programming.
Personal Development
- Stay current in training for both school curriculum and
Pure Truth for Parents event.
- Effectively balance role as visionary and directive of Pure Truth program along with being in the classroom to make face-to-face contacts with those served.
- Stay up-to-date with current events affecting teens, their parents and school environments, to use in instructor trainings, classroom settings, and communication with parents, administrators and GHM supporters.
- Consistently pursue new additions to the program, as a way to reach as many as possible (i.e., different settings, venues, curriculum options, etc.).
QUALIFICATIONS
- Committed Christian who demonstrates a personal relationship with Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord
- Active participant in a local church.
- Strong commitment and dedication to the pro-life position and sexual purity.
- Agree with and be willing to uphold the Statement of Principle, Statement of Faith, and policies of GHM.
- Two or more years’ experience in education, ministry, or related field required. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills including public speaking.
- Experience in office operations and general management an office.
- Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Zoom Meetings.
- Excellent organizational and management skills.
- Self-motivated, dependable, and meet all responsibilities of the job.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This position requires reaching, bending and stretching. It requires sitting and typing on a keypad for extended periods of time and the ability to lift 25 pounds for a limited period of time. The majority of work involved in this position takes place indoors while there are moments of physical exertion related to the set-up and tear-down of special events.
