About the Role:
The Health Services Coordinator oversees health and wellness services for Concordia Language Villages, ensuring the safety and well-being of participants and staff. This position is primarily active during the summer camp season, with additional responsibilities during the academic year to support program leadership and maintain health standards. The role collaborates closely with the Site Director and Concordia College Sanford Heimarck School of Health Professions Liaison.
Job Duties/What You'll Do
- Provide functional leadership for health services operations across Village sites, overseeing health documentation systems, health record compliance, and administrative processes that support safe and effective program operations.
- Lead seasonal healthcare workforce management, including recruiting, onboarding, credential verification, and supervision of a large seasonal team of healthcare providers and interns supporting Village programs.
- Oversee compliance, risk management, and emergency preparedness, ensuring alignment with applicable health regulations, American Camp Association standards, and institutional safety protocols.
- Coordinate participant health services and family communication, reviewing health records, supporting accommodation planning, and working with families, healthcare providers, and program leaders to meet participant health needs.
- Collaborate with Village leadership and campus partners, supporting cross-department coordination on areas such as dietary accommodations, health training, and participant well-being initiatives.
Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications:
- Adult & Pediatric CPR/First Aid/AED certification
- Experience in healthcare, public health, or camp settings
Preferred Qualifications:
- RN or LPN licensure or equivalent preferred
- Previous experience serving in healthcare management or supervisory position in a camp setting
Skills and Abilities:
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills
- Demonstrated crisis management skills and ability to respond effectively in emergencies
- Understanding of MESH (Mental, Emotional, and Social Health) principles and ability to apply them in a camp setting
- Familiarity with ACA (American Camp Association) standards and ACH (Alliance for Camp Health) best practices
