    Descripción

    The Youth Hub Coordinator (YHC) will be responsible for gaining community (mainly youth,

    parents and nonprofit providers) input to build a specific model for Youth Hubs in the Antelope Valley region. The YHC will be an organizer that can facilitate change in communities by bringing together stakeholders and pairing community-based organizations and other partners that meet the needs of those communities. Ultimately, the YHC will work with stakeholders to maximize funding and other resources to create a Youth Hub model that can be replicated throughout the LA region. The YHC will collaborate with ExpandLA team members to create support around quality, professional development, and advocacy for the Youth Hubs.

    The Youth Hub Coordinator will focus on the Antelope Valley. The goal is to have the coordinator live, work, or have some experience in that region.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Community Outreach & Partnerships

    • Collaborate with ExpandLA’s Connect Team to build and maintain collaborative relationships with a broad array of youth, community-based organizations, and schools
    • Lead and co-lead the development and implementation of the Youth Executive Board & leadership training
    • Collaborate with the ExpandLA team & Youth Hub community to use an asset-based youth development approach to facilitate the development of the Youth Hub initiative
    • Ensure culturally appropriate and responsive strategies to engage the populations served
    • Interfacing with county and city youth development departments
    • The Youth Hub Coordinator will conduct extensive community outreach to build and maintain collaborative relationships with stakeholders (parents, youth, community-based organizations, schools, among others)
    • Carries the collective vision, engages and excites others
    • Coordinate, schedule, and facilitate regular meetings and special events that include community members, youth, community organizations and other stakeholders in organizing and developing Youth Hubs

    Project Management & Program Development

    • Collaborate with the Director of Partnerships & Programs to guide high-quality program development and implementation as it relates to Youth Hubs
    • Use Asana & Salesforce to create project workflows and tasks
    • Drive several projects at once, maintain internal organizational systems, and track project timelines and progress
    • Lead and Support the planning and coordination of projects as needed including youth retreats and events
    • Regularly convene and facilitate youth leadership groups both online and in person
    • Create spaces for youth at large in the Youth Hub communities to provide input on the Youth Hubs and other related issues
    • The Youth Hub Coordinator will use an asset-based youth development lens and approach in facilitating the development of the components of a Youth Hub
    • Assess and map resources and organizations to engage community-based organizations of all kinds that serve youth
    • Ensure accurate input of all data and reporting in all agency and funder databases and newsletters, and submit reports in a timely manner; prepare and monitor regular reports for review

    Communications & Marketing

    • Liaise and maintain communications with partners, including coordinating meetings, developing agendas, facilitating, note-taking, and sending follow-up materials
    • Write and edit communication (both internal and external) materials including social media content, outreach emails, etc.
    • Design visual communications materials, including slide decks, brochures, graphics, invitations, flyers, info sheets, social media toolkits, data visualizations, etc.
    • Build ExpandLA’s social media presence and support communications to connect youth to opportunities, and raise awareness of advocacy efforts
