Organization: GLBTQ Legal Advocates and Defenders (GLAD Law)

    Position: Campaign Manager

Reports to: Director of Development, Carole Allen-Scannell

About GLAD Law: Since 1978, GLBTQ Legal Advocates and Defenders (GLAD Law) has achieved landmark legal victories to end discrimination based on gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, and HIV status. GLAD Law has consistently broken through resistance and prejudice to advance transgender rights, marriage equality, protections for LGBTQ+ youth and families, rights for people with HIV, and more. GLAD Law works at the forefront of LGBTQ+ rights, addressing discrimination at the intersections of race and LGBTQ+ status, and countering efforts to roll back progress.

We are at a pivotal moment in our ongoing pursuit of LGBTQ+ justice, racial justice, and lived equality. LGBTQ+ rights, particularly for transgender individuals, are under significant attack. In response, GLAD Law has launched an ambitious $20 million campaign to expand litigation capacity, strengthen advocacy efforts, and secure critical protections for impacted communities.

The Opportunity: The Campaign Manager will coordinate and manage critical elements of GLAD Law’s campaign. This position ensures effective implementation and progress tracking, collaborating closely with the Director of Development, Executive Director, and other key team members.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Project Management

    • Oversee campaign administration: scheduling, correspondence, documentation, and logistics.
    • Manage campaign timelines, ensuring tasks and milestones are met.
    • Coordinate campaign meetings, agendas, and action item follow-up.
    • Coordinate the special campaign direct mail and email appeals for targeted donor segments.

    Campaign Collateral Coordination and Communications

    • Help coordinate campaign branding and messaging with Barsness Group, M+R, and the development team to ensure consistency.
    • Serve as primary liaison with design vendors for campaign materials.
    • Implement and monitor campaign communication strategies.
    • Coordinate creation and distribution of campaign collateral.
    • Represent GLAD Law and the campaign at community events.

    Prospect Research and Wealth Screening

    • Conduct detailed prospect research, update prospect profiles, and track cultivation phases.
    • Oversee wealth screening processes to support strategic donor engagement.

    Prospect Strategy and Moves Management

    • Maintain up-to-date prospect lists and tracking tools in coordination with the development team.
    • Track donor engagement progress through cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship stages.
    • Prepare materials and follow-ups to support donor meetings and strategic outreach.

    Gift Tracking, Reporting, and Recognition

    • Supervise data entry and maintain accurate tracking and documentation of all campaign pledges and gifts.
    • Prepare regular progress reports and dashboards to inform internal and external stakeholders.
    • Draft and manage gift agreements and pledge forms, ensuring proper documentation and recordkeeping.
    • Oversee timely, personalized acknowledgment of campaign gifts, and follow up on outstanding pledges.
    • Support execution of donor stewardship and recognition plans to ensure sustained engagement.

    Volunteer and Board Support

    • Provide comprehensive support to the campaign steering committee and board, including logistics, agendas, minutes, and follow-up communications.
    • Facilitate effective volunteer engagement and committee participation.
