    Job Title: Development and Fundraising Director

    Compensation: $120,000 - $150,000- commensurate with

    experience and ability to make the right connections in the community

    Position Summary: The Development and Fundraising Director leads and executes the organization’s comprehensive fundraising and development strategy to ensure long-term financial sustainability and growth. This role oversees donor relations, major gifts, grants, campaigns, events, and development operations, while working closely with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and key stakeholders.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities: The duties and responsibilities of this position shall include, but are not limited to the following:

    Strategy and Leadership

    • Develop and implement an annual and multi-year fundraising strategy aligned with the organization’s mission and strategic plan
    • Set revenue goals across all fundraising streams (individual giving, grants, corporate support, events, etc.)
    • Track progress against goals and adjust strategies as needed

    Donor Relations & Major Gifts

    • Build, steward, and grow relationships with individual donors, including major and mid-level donors
    • Develop and manage a donor cultivation and stewardship plan
    • Personally solicit major gifts and support leadership and board members in donor solicitations

    Campaigns & Events

    • Design and manage annual giving campaigns, appeals, and special fundraising initiatives
    • Oversee fundraising events, including planning, budgeting, and evaluation
    • Ensure events and campaigns reflect the organization’s brand and value
    • Manage all aspects of the capital campaign, including volunteer committee coordination, prospect tracking, and stewardship of major donors.

    Board & Leadership Engagement

    • Partner with the Executive Director to engage the Board of Directors in fundraising
    • Provide training, tools, and support to board members for donor outreach
    • Prepare fundraising reports for leadership and board meetings

    Development Operations & Systems

    • Oversee donor database (CRM) accuracy, reporting, and best practices
    • Ensure proper gift acknowledgment and donor recognition
    • Develop and maintain fundraising policies, procedures, and compliance standards

    Team Leadership (if applicable)

    • Supervise development staff and/or consultants
    • Set goals, provide coaching, and conduct performance evaluations
    • Foster a collaborative, mission-driven team culture

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (advanced degree a plus)
    • Minimum of 7 years of nonprofit fundraising or development experience
    • Demonstrated success in meeting or exceeding fundraising goals
    • Experience with major gifts and donor stewardship
    • Strong relationship-building, communication, and presentation skills
    • Experience working with boards and senior leadership
    • Proficiency with donor management systems (e.g., Salesforce, Raiser’s Edge, DonorPerfect)

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience leading capital or multi-year campaigns
    • Knowledge of the organization’s mission area or community served
    • CFRE or comparable certification
