    Descripción

Sid Jacobson JCC is a large, community-based nonprofit serving a diverse population through social services, wellness, and educational programming. Our Social Services team provides direct, practical support to individuals and families navigating illness, caregiving, grief, and major life transitions within a community-centered, relationship-driven environment. This is a place where the work is immediate and meaningful. You are working directly with people in real moments, with a team that is collaborative, grounded, and focused on providing thoughtful, high-quality support.

The Role: This is a hands-on, direct service role focused on delivering and supporting established programs, while helping to strengthen them over time. The Clinical Social Worker will facilitate groups, provide short-term support, and ensure participants are connected to the right resources. This role works closely with the Director and is expected to execute consistently, stay organized, and follow through. This role is best suited for someone who has foundational experience and is ready to take on more ownership in a supported environment. Most programs and groups take place in the evenings, so this role requires consistent evening availability as a core part of the schedule.

    What You’ll Do

    • Facilitate ongoing support groups (grief, illness, caregiving)

    • Assist in planning and running workshops on topics like loss, caregiver stress, and emotional wellness

    • Provide short-term individual emotional support and resource navigation

    • Connect participants to appropriate external services and providers

    • Support outreach and engagement to build group participation

    • Maintain accurate documentation and program records

    • Stay current on relevant resources and best practices

    • Support day-to-day program needs as they arise What You Bring

    • MSW required; LMSW or LCSW in New York State

    • Some experience facilitating support groups or meaningful exposure to group work (internship or professional)

    • Experience working with individuals facing grief, illness, or caregiving challenges

    • Ability to manage group dynamics and emotionally sensitive conversations

    • Strong follow-through and organization

    • Comfort taking direction while working independently

    • Knowledge of community resources a plus

    • Ability to work with a community-based population with sensitivity to cultural, family, and generational dynamics

    • Openness to working within a Jewish community setting and engaging respectfully with the needs of the population

    • Consistent availability for evening hours is required, as most groups and programs take place during that time

    • This is a direct service role, not a program leadership position • You will be facilitating, supporting, and executing day-to-day work

    • There is room to contribute ideas, but success is grounded in reliability, consistency, and follow-through

    • You will be working directly with individuals in emotionally complex situations and are expected to be present, steady, and engaged
