    Portland State University School of Social Work invites applications at the rank of Assistant Professor of Practice NTTF (non tenure-track continuous) for a 9 month 1.0 FTE position, located in Bend, Oregon. The position involves instruction, program management, coordination, and service activities. The MSW Central Oregon Option Site Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating the MSW Central Oregon Distance Option, and collaborating with the MSW Program Director on curricular and instructional needs. In addition, the site coordinator will develop and maintain suitable field placement opportunities, coordinate all aspects of the field placement process, provide field liaison and field seminar to the cohort, and maintain the field database for the MSW Central Oregon Option field placements. Candidates should also bring strong knowledge of central Oregon’s social work and social service landscape and practice communities.

    Minimum Qualifications

    • Master’s in Social Work from an accredited School of Social Work
    • Minimum of 3 years of post Master’s practice experience
    • Minimum of 2 years of social service administrative experience in a human services field and/or higher education specifically any of the following: a. BSW/MSW Field Instructor; Field Liaison; or Staff Supervisor, or b. Social Work Educator, Trainer or Community Member in service to social work higher education
    • Understanding of human service and social work education needs in rural area
    • Demonstrated commitment to racial equity and/or related framework
    • Demonstrated ability to work on teams and in collaboration with diverse stakeholders (i.e. students, faculty, community partners, etc.)
    • Demonstrated strong oral and written communication skills

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Minimum of 1 year teaching experience.
    • Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Oregon or eligible for clinical licensure Licensed as a Certified Alcohol Drug Counselor (CADC-II or CADC-III).
    • Demonstrated ability to work productively on a team and to communicate and collaborate effectively with diverse students, staff, faculty and community partners.
