    About CFI

The Centre for Feed Innovation (CFI) is a research and advocacy NGO that is accelerating innovation in animal feed. CFI works with agribusiness and investors to scale the production and adoption of novel feed ingredients. We promote novel feed ingredients to reduce demand for unsustainable animal feed ingredients, including fishmeal and soybean meal. Check out our website and LinkedIn page to learn more about who we are and what we do.

CFI is at an exciting growth stage and is looking to hire a Corporate Engagement Manager to manage our advocacy towards agribusiness companies and investors. It is a permanent, full-time role.

For more information about this role, please take a look at the job description below ⬇️

How you will make a difference:

While many novel feed ingredients already exist, they only comprise a small percentage of the market share for animal feed - including aquafeed and pet food. One of the biggest challenges for the novel feed ingredient industry is securing long-term support from agribusiness companies and investors. In this role, you will advise companies who are considering adopting novel feed ingredients, and educate investors on the commercial and environmental value of innovation in animal feed.

Your role will primarily consist of:

    • Deliver CFI’s corporate engagement strategy, focusing on the highest impact agribusiness and investors.
    • Working with biotech start-ups and established companies to understand technical, regulatory, and commercial bottlenecks—and help resolve them through CFI’s network and resources.
    • Build and maintain strong relationships with corporations across aquaculture, animal nutrition, pet food, and biotech.
    • Conduct outreach to agribusiness, the finance community, and public sector funders, concessional capital providers and research funders (e.g., government agencies and development finance institutions).
    • Produce and deliver presentations and strategic briefings on feed technology, market trends, and investment dynamics. Expand upon CFI’s agribusiness and investor support materials with market and investment data and share concise findings through written updates and presentations. Assess market readiness for different sectors (aquaculture, pet food) and geographies.
    • Represent CFI at key industry conferences and events.
    • Perform other tasks as required as a member of our small, nimble team.

    Who we’re looking for:

    You must have:

    • A keen interest in sustainable food systems, aquaculture, pet food, or animal feed.
    • A scientific understanding of fermentation technology, bioprocessing, environmental assessments (Life Cycle Assessments), and animal nutrition.
    • Commercial familiarity with venture funding, scale-up, and supply chain dynamics in bio-based innovation.
    • Strong analytical, writing, and presentation skills, and the ability to translate scientific literature into tailored messaging.
    • Persuasive and engaging interpersonal skills; the ability to build effective working relationships with senior executives and academics.
    • A can-do approach: a self-starter with the drive and initiative to take responsibility and an ability to see projects through to completion within a small organisation.
    • Comfort working remotely, and the ability to work well independently and meet deadlines.
    • An academic qualification in the life sciences or engineering.
    • The ability to work effectively in English, both in writing and verbally.

The ideal candidate may also have some of the following, although these are not requirements:

    • Relevant commercial or academic expertise in either animal feed, alternative proteins, ag tech, biopharmaceutical manufacturing, or other R&D in other CapEx-intensive industries.
    • Professional experience working in or alongside aquafeed, pet food, animal nutrition, or alternative protein companies.
    • Experience with, or knowledge of, novel animal feed ingredients, including algae, single-cell protein, livestock byproducts, or insects.
    • Experience producing and/or analysing environmental impact reports or lifecycle assessments of production systems.
    • An established network and rapport with a professional or academic network relevant to CFI’s work.
    • Willingness to travel to key conferences 2-4 times per year in the US, Asia, or Europe.

    Contract description

    • Length of Engagement: Permanent role, starting with a 1-year renewable contract.
    • Start date: By September 2025, or earlier.
    • Hours: This is a full-time role, from 4 to 5 days a week (32 - 40 hours).
    • Location: We will consider applicants from anywhere. This is a fully remote role. Candidates will need to overlap with UK (GMT) working hours for 5 to 10 hours per week.
    • Salary: Salary is based on experience & location of employment. We benchmark our salaries above the average market rate for an NGO. We are willing to consider higher compensation for experienced, outstanding candidates.
      • If based in the UK, the salary range is £50,000 - £60,000 per year.
    • Right-to-work requirements: The successful candidate must, by the start of employment, have permission to work in the country where they are based.
    • Travel: Be permitted to travel within Europe, the US, Canada, and Singapore.

    Application process:

Please submit your CV and cover letter via this form. Successful applicants will be invited to conduct a short written assignment. If successful, candidates will be invited to interviews.

    • The application deadline is June 15th 2025, at midnight.
