    Descripción

    Under the direction of the Board of Directors, the part-time Director of Dawn’s Place is responsible for the overall management and operations of the program, which serves a small number of women survivors of Commercial Sexual Exploitation and sex trafficking in a residential setting in Philadelphia, PA. The applicant must have leadership or supervisory experience.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIILITIES:

    To the Board:

    • Provide leadership in developing program, organizational and financial plans with the Board of Directors and carry out plans and policies authorized by the Board.
    • Report on the overall management and direction of Dawn’s Place.
    • Communicate significant developments and trends in the field.
    • Prepare annual reports on program activities.
    • Prepare annual and long-term budgets with the Board Treasurer.
    • Report on current income and expenses with the Board Treasurer.
    • Make known financial needs and elicit Board knowledge and assistance.
    • Attend Board meetings and give Director’s report.
    • Participate in strategic planning.

    In relationship with staff: the Director will

    • Work with staff on managing the program.
    • Be responsible for the employment and termination of staff, contractors, and volunteers.
    • Ensure that job descriptions are developed, and that sound human resources practices are in place.
    • Provide orientation for both employees and volunteers.
    • Encourage staff and volunteer development and education.
    • Maintain a climate that attracts, keeps, and motivates staff and volunteers.
    • Troubleshoot problems associated with program functioning with staff.
    • Be responsible for annual staff evaluations.

    In communications, the Director will

    • Assist with the development of the quarterly newsletter.
    • Assist with developing materials that promote Dawn’s Place.
    • Present to organizations on CSE and Dawn’s Place.
    • Participate in meetings of similar anti-trafficking organizations and coalitions.

    In budget and finance, the Director will

    • Maintain sound financial practices.
    • Oversee grant writing.
    • Oversee budget expenditures.
    • Manage payroll process with contracted agency.

    In Operations, the Director will

    • Maintain official records and documents and ensure compliance with government regulations.
    • Keep program/residence license and certification up to date.
    • Oversee maintenance of two houses and their grounds.
    • Keep policies and procedures up to date.
    • Attend appropriate committee meetings.

    This is a part-time position for 28 hours per week without benefits, except for paid PTO and sick time. The salary range for this position is $40,000 - $50.000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience. All or nearly all hours worked for this position must be on-site at our residences in Philadelphia, PA. Some flexibility in days/times are possible.

    QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

    • Bachelor’s degree or significant leadership/supervisory experience
    • Experience in leading the operations of a program, unit, or organization
    • A minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience
    • Knowledge of organizational operations and policies
    • Experience in social services, human services, behavioral health, or a related field a plus
    • Knowledge of non-profit administration a plus
    • Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with MS Office products
    • Must have excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Ability to sit, stand and walk for moderate periods of time. Ability to climb 2 flights of stairs. Occasionally the Director may be required to do medium level physical work that would include reaching, pushing, pulling and lifting up to 20 pounds.

    Compensación

    This is a part-time position for 28 hours per week without benefits, except for paid PTO and sick time.
