    Position Summary:

    The Coordinator, Special Events, Projects, and Partnerships supports the operation and continued growth of the Special Events, Projects, and Partnerships team, including various events, sponsorships, special guest, and Board of Trustee needs for The New York Botanical Garden. This administrative and people engagement role engages Garden donors, sponsors, staff, contractors, and vendors. This role will blend excellent writing, event planning, and customer engagement skills.

    Specific Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Assist with, and occasionally lead, key logistical components of small- and large-scale events and programs.
    • Prepare written documents, reports, letters, pitch decks, and other materials as required.
    • Conduct research and draft biographies of key individuals and organizations.
    • Oversee event document administration and historical record-keeping, including filing, maintaining records in Raiser’s Edge, tracking reporting schedules, and adhering to event planning and special projects timelines.
    • Assist in staffing Garden fundraising events, as required.
    • Provide general administrative support for the Special Events, Projects, and Partnerships team.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s Degree required.
    • Minimum of three years of experience in education, non-profit, or fundraising, preferably with a background in special events or board relations.
    • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
    • Propriety, thoughtfulness, excellent judgement, and discretion in communicating with donors and colleagues at all levels, both verbally and in writing.
    • Exceptional time management and organizational skills, sharp attention to detail.
    • Ability to balance multiple projects in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
    • Willingness to work occasional evenings/weekends for events and donor visits.
    • Driver’s license required.
    • Fluency in Microsoft Word and Excel preferred.
    • Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge preferred.
    • Writing samples may be requested during the interview process.
