    What You’ll Do

Teach Plus Texas is seeking a creative, strategic Social Media Consultant to elevate our online presence, share compelling teacher stories, and engage audiences across multiple platforms. In this project-based contract role, you will collaborate closely with the Texas team to shape digital strategy, translate research and program successes into engaging content, and connect with key audiences, including teachers, funders, and school leaders.

    Scope of Work & Responsibilities

    • Audit & Strategy: Conduct a comprehensive social media audit to assess reach, engagement, and current performance. Develop and implement a strategic social media plan and content calendar aligned with the Teach Plus brand and Team Texas’ five-year goals. Define success metrics, benchmarks, and KPIs based on audit findings and organizational goals.
    • Content Creation & Campaigns: Design and manage multimedia campaigns across platforms (TikTok, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook), highlighting teachers as superheroes, career-connected educators, and career stewards. Integrate research, program reports, and stories of impact into accessible, engaging storytelling.
    • Collaboration: Work with Texas staff to identify impactful teacher stories, gather content, and align messaging with ongoing initiatives.
    • Engagement & Analytics: Track performance, monitor engagement, and adjust content, cadence, and strategy based on data-driven insights. Provide recommendations to optimize campaigns and platform strategies.
    • Recruitment & Marketing Support: Use social media to drive awareness, applications, and attendance for Texas programs, events, and regional initiatives.

    Contract Details & Success Metrics

    • Posting Cadence: Minimum 3–4 posts per week across platforms.
    • Engagement Goals: Demonstrated growth in followers, audience interactions, and sustained engagement metrics.
    • Recruitment Impact: Increase teacher applications and event registrations attributable to social media campaigns.
    • Evaluation: Review with recommendations for sustainability, optimization, and future campaigns.

What You’ll Need to be Successful

    • Proven experience in social media strategy, content creation, and storytelling, ideally within education, advocacy, or nonprofit sectors; understanding of the political landscape is a plus.
    • Creative and data-driven ability to translate research, data, and teacher stories of impact into accessible, engaging multimedia content that resonates with diverse audiences.
    • Skilled in defining, tracking, and analyzing social media performance metrics to assess engagement, reach, and impact, and using insights to optimize campaigns.
    • Collaborative, proactive, and able to partner with teams to surface stories, amplify organizational priorities, and align content with broader strategic goals.
    • Familiarity with key social media platforms, including TikTok, Instagram, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, and Facebook, with knowledge of platform-specific best practices.
    • Passionate about elevating teachers’ voices and showcasing their impact through creative storytelling.

    Time Commitment

This role requires an average of 8–10 hours per week from December through April 2026, with the possibility of renewal based on an updated scope of work beyond that timeframe. This estimated time includes activities such as auditing current social media channels, defining success metrics, developing a strategy, creating content, managing campaigns, analyzing performance data, and collaborating with the Texas team. The anticipated start date is early to mid-December.
