We do this by delivering impactful services with measurable outcomes to children, adults, and the elderly. As a civic anchor, we carry out this mission within the context of building a sustainable community for all people through the arts, environmental advocacy, and urban planning.

We are currently seeking an Assistant Director (Supervisor) of Youth Clinical Services for our north Brooklyn location.

    What will you do:

The Assistant Director of Youth Clinical Services will manage and oversee the daily operations of St. Nicks Alliance's clinical and counseling services across all youth programming (early childhood through high school). This leadership role ensures high-quality mental health support for students who struggle with socio-emotional challenges but may not qualify for mandated services. The Assistant Director will supervise clinical staff, develop innovative programming, promote achievement of transformational outcomes, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure the integration of mental health services into the educational and after-school landscape. This leader will also help develop the resources and capacity to expand services to all children in need.

    Leadership and Management:

      • Provide day-to-day oversight and leadership for all clinical staff, including Social Workers/Transformational Coaches, MSW interns, and mental health professionals.
      • Serve as a key member of the Youth and Education leadership team to guide program development and strategic planning.
      • Ensure clinical services are aligned with organizational goals, theory of change outcomes, NASW Code of Ethics, and evidence-based practices.
      • Develop the strategy and financial resources to expand services for children and youth.

    Clinical Supervision and Development:

      • Provide individual and group clinical supervision using a person-centered and trauma-informed approach.
      • Support clinical staff with complex and high-need cases, including crisis intervention and mandated reporting.
      • Oversee and expand the clinical internship program, ensuring robust supervision, evaluation, and professional development opportunities.
      • Facilitate ongoing clinical training in areas such as CBT, motivational interviewing, trauma-based care, play and narrative therapies, and SEL (social-emotional learning) frameworks.

Ensure that staff are trained and supported in working with students to achieve the program's Theory of Change (TOC) short-, medium-, and long-term outcomes

    Program Development and Quality Assurance:

      • Collaborate with program and associate directors to embed clinical services within the School Success Model, Early Childhood, K-8 Afterschool, LEAP and Career GPS programs.
      • Develop and implement policies and procedures for documenting clinical services, ensuring all staff utilize secure database systems for accurate and confidential record-keeping.
      • Develop and implement systems to document services rendered as well as required ROI and permissions within the ETO database with the goal of 100% data accuracy.
      • Develop and monitor systems to track outcomes that match the short-, medium- and long-term goals outlined in the youth theory of change plan.
      • Develop and implement performance management while also providing coaching and additional training to underperforming staff.
      • Participate in grant reporting and data collection to demonstrate program impact.
      • Collaborate with the data manager and clinical team to identify and define key indicators that measure TOC outcomes and use data-driven insights to continuously improve service delivery and program effectiveness.

    Partnership and Collaboration:

      • Build and maintain collaborative relationships with schools, community partners, and family members.
      • Serve as a resource for school staff, administration, and community stakeholders in addressing mental health needs.
      • Represent St. Nicks Alliance at community meetings, advisory boards, and professional forums.

      • Expertise in trauma-informed care, motivational interviewing, CBT, play therapy, narrative therapy, and SEL interventions.
      • Strong organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
      • Familiarity with data management systems (e.g., Efforts to Outcomes/ETO) a plus.
      • Ability to work independently while fostering a highly collaborative team environment.
