Oasis - a Haven for Women and Children is a nonprofit 501 (C) (3) organization located in Paterson, New Jersey. We carry out educational and social services programs that help local women enter and succeed in the workforce and help children flourish academically. We also operate a soup kitchen and provide emergency food, clothing, and social support to city residents in need.
Overview
Oasis is in search of part-time remote consulting engagement supporting Oasis during the first 3 -6 months of transition from Raiser's Edge to Bloomerang (cloud-based donor management and fundraising software designed specifically for nonprofit organizations). Must have Bloomerang CRM experience (1-2 years). The consultant will serve as the primary database administrator during the adoption period, handling core data maintenance tasks and leading the post-migration cleanup project.
Core Responsibilities
Post-Migration Cleanup
- Using the full list of 453 affected pledge records from Bloomerang on migration day, the consultant will work through the cleanup queue systematically, resolving each record according to the established protocol
- Maintain the cleanup tracking spreadsheet and report progress monthly
- Target full completion within 90 days of go-live
Duplicate Management
- Monitor for duplicates created on a weekly basis
- Run Bloomerang's duplicate detection tool each week
- Review all flagged pairs and merge or confirm as non-duplicates
- Log all merges
Gift & Transaction Review
- Review all transactions weekly to confirm Fund, Campaign, and Appeal are assigned on every gift
- Monitor failed recurring donation schedules weekly and flag for follow-up
- Check for unacknowledged gifts weekly
Constituent Record Maintenance
- Act on TrueGivers/NCOA alerts for deceased constituents and address changes
- Execute the deceased constituent workflow when flagged
- Spot-check new records weekly for data entry accuracy and completeness
Reporting
- Run the monthly constituent detail report and flag any data quality issues
- Run the monthly transaction detail report and flag any missing attribution or entry errors
Training
The consultant will work directly with the Director of Development to provide information on how to complete basic Bloomerang system maintenance tasks
Reporting & Communication
The consultant will provide a brief written summary to the Director of Development at the end of each week covering:
- Tasks completed
- Issues identified
- Decisions that require Director sign-off
- Cleanup queue progress
Estimated Hours
This position is monthly, with 3 to 6 months estimated engagement
Weekly time: 3-5 hours
Monthly – 20-25 hours
Requirements
- Demonstrated Bloomerang experience required
- Nonprofit donor database background required
- Remote work with reliable turnaround on flagged issues
- Strong documentation habits
- References from comparable nonprofit clients preferred
