Full Cash Compensation: $68,400

Purpose of Position:
The role of the New Economic Justice Organizing Project Operations manager will be to own day-to-day operations execution, making sure the organization runs smoothly across offices, events, and internal coordination. This role is about logistics, systems, and accountability across teams. This role also serves as the primary manager for Admin, HR, IT, and Finance functions, ensuring clarity of role across operations, people, and financial execution.
About the New Economic Justice Organizing Project
The New Economic Justice Organizing Project is a nonprofit community organization building working-class economic and community power through organizing, leadership development, and civic engagement in Louisiana.
The New Economic Justice Organizing Project has a co-employment relationship with Insperity, a Professional Employee Organization (PEO), responsible for employer-related administrative and human resource details.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Office and facilities management, including day-to-day operations across all offices, coordination, and materials procurement
- Administrative duties, including maintaining inventory, mail, reception, and general admin
- Events and meeting support, including setup and breakdown of events
- Travel booking and coordination for staff and members
- Procurement, management of vendor relationships, and paying bills
- Operations, project management, and calendar coordination for staff for who?
- Operations system development and maintenance for programs
- Manage, supervise, and support a team of up to 4 other operations staff, including roles such as administrative assistant, contract accountant, IT, and HR
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- At least 3 years of operations experience
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills (listening, speaking, and writing)
- Commitment to the social justice movement and passion for winning change
- Experience working independently and managing a volunteer team
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment, be detail-oriented and solution-oriented
- Possession of excellent listening skills and the ability to comprehend the concerns of others.
- Experience in making and following through on a work plan.
- The ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds.
- Willingness to travel for meetings and events
- Ability to work long and irregular hours, including some nights, weekends, and holidays. General working hours are 40 hours per week. Comp time and generous vacation, sick, and holiday time package.
- Own a car with insurance and comfortable driving in that car with staff and members
- Strong computer skills, including word processing and Excel
- Experience in a movement organization, union, or nonprofit a plus
- Spanish language skills a plus
Physical Requirements:
The position is in-person 5 days per week, based in New Orleans. Work is generally performed from a field office setting or other location to complete the required assignments of the position. Long and extended hours and a minimal amount of overnight travel may be required. The position will require lifting up to 35 pounds and will require moving furniture, tables, and chairs for meeting and event setup and breakdown. Walking door to door may also be required.

$100/month phone stipend ($1,200/year)
$450/month car stipend ($5,400/year)
$60,000/year cash salary
