Position Overview:
The Office Manager supports the administrative and executive functions of LWVMC. This part-time position (30 hours per week) reports directly to the LWVMC President and assists other LWVMC leaders and members with administrative needs. The Office Manager is responsible for office management, setting up events and meetings, data entry and reporting, and supporting communications to stakeholders, both internal and external.
The ideal candidate is highly motivated, detail-orientated, and organized with sound judgment and a passion for mission-driven work. S/he should be able to work independently as the lone staffer and also have strong interpersonal and collaborative skills to interact expeditiously and respectfully with others. S/he will be expected to uphold LWVMC’s mission and values and adhere to its organizational culture. Having League of Women Voters experience is a plus.

Experience with: Google Drive and related cloud products; Club Express, or similar association website and member management platform; Zoom, and similar web meeting and webinar tools, social media tools; QuickBooks, or similar accounting software; on-line fundraising tools, Canva or other graphic design programs.
Education and Experience:
An associate degree is preferred. A minimum of one year working in an office environment is required.
Work Location:
This position reports directly to the LWVMC President and is based at the LWVMC office at 27 Wood Lane, Rockville, Maryland. The Office Manager is expected to be physically present in the office unless s/he has the expressed permission of the LWVMC President to work remotely given extenuating circumstances. The office is ADA compliant. Parking is available and location is accessible by public transit.
Compensation and hours:
Wages – The employee will be paid $42,000 annually and will work Monday through Friday, five (5) six-hour days per week. Some of these hours may include providing administrative support for monthly evening and occasional weekend meetings.
Benefits – The employee will receive a supplement to be used for health insurance coverage. Additional benefits include annual COLA, paid time off (90 hours per year) paid time off for all federal holidays.

Organizational Overview:
The League of Women Voters of Montgomery County (LWVMC) is a local chapter of the nationwide League of Women Voters. We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit, non-partisan, mission -driven, volunteer-led organization dedicated to empowering voters and defending democracy. We are a membership organization funded by dues and donations. We register voters, publish voters’ guides and host forums to acquaint voters with candidates’ stances on important issues; study issues to inform our position on them; and perform other civic education work. We also interact with elected officials and advocate for policies and programs that promote good governance, open democracy, diversity, equity, and inclusion. We are located at 27 Wood Lane in Rockville, Maryland.
