About LeadOn

LeadOn is a Los Angeles-based program designed to provide extended resources and opportunities to young adults who have been justice-involved. LeadOn participants are young adults who will likely have experienced justice system involvement (inclusive of confinement/incarceration, arrest, detainment, and/or system contact) and have demonstrated successful re-entry into their communities. At each placement site, LeadOn participants will provide their site with 10 hours per week of work. Services may include administrative tasks, program-specific tasks, and other tasks depending on the specific needs of the organization. The LeadOn program also supports credible messenger programming for young adults anticipating reentry who are currently detained in LA County juvenile facilities.

What You Will Do

The anticipated start date for this position is March 16, 2026. You will report to the LeadOn Program Manager.

You’ll assist with the functionality of the Los Angeles County LeadOn and California Justice Leaders programs. The program coordinator will assist the program manager(s), associate director, and director of Leadership Programs with program planning and implementation; training planning and facilitation; creating policies, protocols and procedures for various aspects of the program; coordinating logistics for programming in juvenile facilities; member timekeeping; and coaching of participants. This position will assist with data collection and monitoring; help match members with placements sites; and provide member support and guidance. This position will support ongoing programming efforts within Los Angeles County juvenile halls, including partnerships with county and system-level partners.

This position will also be responsible for supporting logistics around member orientation, onboarding, ongoing training, and graduation. Travel responsibilities will include site visits to the surrounding Los Angeles County area.

Your core responsibilities will be:

• Manage participant weekly timekeeping system and monthly training calendar to monitor participants’ target hours served and on-going professional development support.
• Coordinate logistics and support advancement of programming inside LA County juvenile facilities.
• Facilitate learning sessions and provide one-on-one supportive coaching for participants as needed.
• Manage, gather, and report data related to participant involvement, timekeeping, and progress (attendance, skill progress, evaluations, reported well-being, etc.) ensuring regular and on-going documentation.
• Assist in the organization of technical logistics and coordination, including but not limited to:
  • large-scale events and convening (virtual and in person once safe to do so)
  • cycles of course-based learning
• Assist with management of data collection systems, including for the purposes of grant reporting
• Build professional partnerships with host sites and external partners
• Work with consultants as needed

Education / Experience Level

Successful candidates typically have at least a Bachelor’s or relevant job experience as equivalent.

Required Qualifications

• Experience with case management for career and/or education-based programs
• Experience creating curriculum, trainings, resources, and deliverables for vulnerable populations
• Ability to identify academic, professional, and personal needs/strengths in participants and team members
• Coaching skills based on an ethos of social justice, racial justice, community, and mutuality
• Experience working with system-impacted people and/or vulnerable populations
• Experience working with case management and/or data collection systems
• Ability to work well independently and with a team
• Highly developed time management skills and acute attention to detail
• Database and/or Google suite experience
• Ability to organize and synthesize information for individual members and service recipients, including monitoring progress and troubleshooting as needed
• Ability to work well with remote staff
• Strong community, interpersonal, and intrapersonal skills
• Ability to pass a federal background check
• Ability to gain clearance with Los Angeles County Probation Department
• Active car insurance and valid current driver’s license, with continued access to a vehicle

Consistent with our compensation philosophy, our starting salaries are established to represent strong compensation in the marketplace and to maintain internal equity. The starting salary for this position is fixed at $60,274, with annual increases defined by the current collective bargaining agreement. This is a bargaining unit position with Impact Justice United represented by OPEIU International. The benefits that come with working at Impact Justice include medical, dental, and FSA plans, significant vacation and wellness leave, and immediate vesting in our 401K with a generous match. This is a full-time, salaried position.

The candidate should be located in Los Angeles and will work under a hybrid schedule. Periodic deviations to the regular hybrid schedule may be required due to program needs.

We ARE NOT considering remote staff for this position.
