    DESCRIPTION OF THE POSITION

    The Coordinator, Curriculum and Design supports the creation, testing, and improvement of BEAM’s STEM enrichment and STEM career exploration curricula for students in grades 8–12. Reporting to the Manager, Curriculum and Design, this role plays a tactical and execution-focused part in ensuring high-quality program materials, piloting new lessons, and supporting faculty and staff in implementation.

    The Coordinator will work closely with curriculum specialists, faculty, and BEAM’s local program teams to ensure that BEAM’s instructional materials are clear, consistent, and aligned with program goals. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is excited about curriculum development, detail-oriented project execution, and advancing equity in STEM education.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Curriculum Development & Support (50%)

    • Assist in drafting, formatting, and organizing lesson plans, instructional guides, and assessments for STEM enrichment and exploration programs.
    • Gather and integrate faculty and student feedback to refine curricula.
    • Support pilots of new courses, including scheduling, material preparation, and logistics.
    • Maintain a digital library of curriculum resources, ensuring materials are accessible and up-to-date.

    Program Implementation Support (25%)

    • Provide administrative and logistical support for new program launches and pilots.
    • Track curriculum delivery and collect implementation data from local teams.
    • Support faculty training sessions by preparing materials and resources.
    • Help create instructional resources for staff and faculty adoption.

    Program Evaluation & Continuous Improvement (15%)

    • Collect and organize student learning data, faculty feedback, and program evaluations.
    • Contribute to reports and presentations on curriculum effectiveness.
    • Recommend small-scale improvements to lessons and materials based on data.

    Cross-Team Collaboration (10%)

    • Work with the Curriculum and Design Manager to align deliverables with program goals.
    • Collaborate with local program teams to troubleshoot implementation challenges.
    • Coordinate with the Data and Operations team to ensure smooth data collection and reporting.

    Education

    • Bachelor’s degree in education, STEM, curriculum development, or related field required.

    Technical Skills

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
    • Ability to create and edit clear instructional materials.
    • Comfort with data entry, analysis, and reporting.

    Professional Skills

    • 1–3 years of relevant experience in curriculum support, teaching, or program coordination (internships or fellowships considered).
    • Strong organizational and communication skills.
    • Experience supporting projects from start to finish in a detail-oriented role.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience working with middle or high school students in STEM education settings.
    • Exposure to curriculum development or instructional design processes.
    • Prior experience in nonprofits, enrichment programs, or education-focused organizations.
