Role Overview:
The Program Executive – Advocacy, Networking & Liaising will lead efforts to strengthen labour rights and worker welfare through policy engagement, strategic partnerships, and public advocacy. This role involves collaborating with government institutions, legal experts, civil society, and worker groups to influence systems that improve access to social security, housing, justice, and occupational safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Advocacy & Policy Work: Develop and implement plans regarding social protection, health, safety, and housing for informal workers while using field data to inform policy recommendations.
- Partnerships & Networking: Build strong networks with trade unions and civil society organisations to facilitate collaborative dialogues on worker rights.
- Government & Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with key departments (Labour, ESIC, Health, etc.) and engage with policymakers to promote accountability and advance worker issues.
- Representation & Communication: Represent the organisation in state and national forums and contribute to media engagement to highlight worker voices.
- Team & Community Linkages: Support internal teams in integrating advocacy into programs and stay connected with worker communities to ensure their experiences shape priorities.
- Documentation & Learning: Document policy developments, case stories, and field data to strengthen campaigns and inform strategy.
Required Qualifications & Experiences
- Education: Postgraduate degree in Social Work, Sociology, Development Studies, Legal/Public Policy, or a related field.
- Experience: 2-3 years of experience in rights-based work, labour rights, or advocacy
- Technical Skills: Strong experience engaging with government systems and a deep understanding of labour, migration, and informal economy issues
- Communication: Excellent writing and coordination skills; fluency in English and Hindi is required.
- Logistics: Willingness to travel and work flexibly.
- Preference: Prior work experience or a background in Indore/Madhya Pradesh is an advantage.
