    World Conference of Religions for Peace Inc. (Religions for Peace) is the largest and most representative global multi-religious coalition advancing common action among religious communities for peace. Headquartered in New York City and accredited to the United Nations, Religions for Peace works through more than 90 regional and national inter-religious councils (IRCs) and groups; global, regional, national and local networks of religious youth and women of faith; and a World Council of senior religious leaders.     Religions for Peace is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional to serve Special Projects Associate, contributing to the implementation and coordination of projects across Religions for Peace’s five strategic priorities (Building Just, Peaceful, and Inclusive Societies; Advancing Gender Equality; Nurturing a Sustainable Environment; Championing Freedom of Thought, Conscience, and Religion; Strengthening Interreligious Education; Fostering Multi-Religious Collaboration and Global Partnerships).

    Position Overview

    Religions for Peace seeks a highly organized and motivated Special Projects Associate to support the coordination and implementation of initiatives across the organization’s programmatic portfolio. The Associate will provide research, coordination, and administrative support for projects aligned with Religions for Peace’s strategic priorities:

    • Championing Freedom of Thought, Conscience, and Religion Strengthening

    • Fostering Multi-Religious Collaboration and Global Partnerships

    The position will contribute to program coordination, documentation, monitoring activities, and logistical support for events and institutional initiatives, including preparations related to the upcoming Religions for Peace World Assembly.

    This role reports to the Director of Programs/Deputy Secretary General and works closely with colleagues across programs, communications, and resource mobilization.

    Responsibilities

    These include but are not limited to the following:

    • Support the coordination and implementation of projects across Religions for Peace’s strategic priority areas, with a particular focus on environment and gender, under the direction of the Director of Programs;
    • Assist with communication and coordination with program partners, networks, and internal teams;
    • Support monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) processes, including data collection, documentation, and organization of program information; Contribute to the preparation of narrative donor reports and internal program updates;
    • Provide logistical and administrative support for project activities, including organizing in-person and virtual meetings, workshops, and events;
    • Assist in grant management processes, including supporting proposal preparation, workplan tracking, and documentation;
    • Conduct background research and contribute to internal briefing materials, reports, and knowledge products;
    • Support documentation of program outcomes and institutional impact, including materials related to preparations for the Religions for Peace World Assembly;
    • Coordinate with the Communications to support storytelling, case studies, and documentation of program activities;
    • Perform other duties as assigned in support of Religions for Peace’s mission and programmatic priorities.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or higher in relevant field such as international relations, peace and conflict studies, theology, or a related discipline;
    • Two to three years of relevant professional experience, preferably with an international nonprofit, faith-based organization, or related institution;
    • Demonstrated experience supporting program implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and donor reporting, preferably including large donors such as governments and multi-lateral institutions;
    • Expertise or experience in one or more of Religions for Peace’s strategic priorities;
    • Strong ability to work across cultures and with diverse, multi-religious, and multi-stakeholder partners
    • Excellent organizational, planning, and time-management skills, with strong attention to detail;
    • Strong written and verbal communications skills, including the ability to draft clear and compelling reports and correspondence;
    • Highly collaborative team player with the ability to work independently and take initiative;
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with CRM systems;
    • English fluency is required. Language skills or fluency in Spanish, French or Arabic is a plus.
    • Applicants must have authorization to work in the United States. Religions for Peace is not able to sponsor visas for this position.

    Salary Range

    USD (depending on qualification and experience) + generous benefits.
