    Position Profile

    The Senior Director of Events will lead Blue Meridian Partners' events strategy and execution, creating compelling experiences that display the impact of our mission to transform the lives of young people and families living in poverty. Reporting to the Chief Marketing Officer, this role will design and deliver high-impact events that strengthen relationships with investors, partners, and key stakeholders while elevating Blue Meridian's presence in the philanthropic sector.

    Primary Responsibilities

    The responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to the following:

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive events strategy aligned with Blue Meridian's marketing, communications, and capital aggregation objectives
    • Lead the end-to-end planning and execution of diverse events including network convenings, thought leadership forums, partnership meetings and fundraising gatherings
    • Design innovative event experiences that effectively communicate key aspects about Blue Meridian, especially its impact and investment approach, to sophisticated audiences
    • Build and manage cross-functional teams for event execution, coordinating closely with Marketing, Investor Relations, and Executive Office teams to ensure seamless integration of messaging and goals
    • Oversee all event logistics including venue selection, budget management, vendor negotiations, speaker coordination, and on-site execution
    • Craft ideas for event programming/content leading curation of ideas and research and facilitating decision-making
    • Develop and maintain relationships with high-quality vendors, venues, and service providers, negotiating favorable contracts and ensuring excellent delivery
    • Create and implement event measurement frameworks to evaluate effectiveness and ROI, providing data-driven insights to continuously improve event strategies

    Supervision

    • Perform direct people management duties including recruiting, coaching, developing, and providing oversight to staff including an Events Coordinator.

    Qualifications

    Required

    • Aligned with Blue Meridian’s mission and core values.
    • At least 12 years of professional experience in a related field and a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
    • Demonstrated success in planning sophisticated corporate or philanthropic events
    • Proven track record of developing and executing strategic event programs that advance organizational objectives
    • Excellence in project management with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple complex events simultaneously
    • Strong interpersonal skills with a professional and genial demeanor, and the ability to work with people with different backgrounds and experiences.
    • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and the ability to learn new software quickly.
    • Willing to travel as needed including some evenings and weekends for event execution

    Preferred

    • Experience working in philanthropy, nonprofits and/or strategy consulting desirable
    • Background in producing events for high-net-worth individuals or institutional investors.
    • An advanced degree in a related subject desirable.
    • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics CRM, Asana, and SharePoint is a plus.

    Hiring Salary

    Blue Meridian Partners aims to provide a comprehensive and competitive total compensation package.

    The hiring salary for this position is $189,200. In addition to the base salary, each member of Blue Meridian is eligible to receive a performance-based variable incentive bonus.
