Each year, over 5.2 million American families experience the trauma of a child being hospitalized. Ryan’s Case for Smiles (RCFS) supports children and families facing life-changing illnesses and injuries by surrounding them with a community of care. From whimsical pillowcases to trauma-informed family resources, our mission is to help children feel better to heal better.
RCFS serves children through 99 chapters across the U.S. and Canada, delivering more than 175,000 pillowcases annually to 348 hospitals. Our team partners with over 100 volunteer Chapter Coordinators and thousands of volunteers nationwide.
About the Role
The National Chapter Program Manager plays a leadership role in sustaining the strength, consistency, and engagement of RCFS’s national chapter network. Working closely with the Executive Director and Volunteer Chapter Coordinators, this position focuses on relationship management, volunteer engagement, chapter-led fundraising initiatives, and national campaigns. Volunteer Chapter Coordinators and their volunteers sew, package, and deliver over 175,000 pillowcases each year. The Operations Liaison helps ensure these volunteers are supported, connected, and equipped, while also guiding chapter-led fundraising, training, and engagement efforts that sustain the mission.
Key Responsibilities
Build and maintain strong relationships with Volunteer Chapter Coordinators
Monitor chapter health and provide guidance to ensure consistency and alignment
Lead national campaigns such as Giving Tuesday and Miles of Pillowcase Smiles
Strengthen volunteer recruitment, retention, and recognition strategies across chapters
Support chapter-led fundraising initiatives and community partnerships
Create and distribute chapter communications and newsletters
Oversee chapter webpages in WordPress and maintain brand consistency
Lead the Chapter Coordinator Convention
Track inventory and pillowcase delivery records

Passionate about serving sick kids and their families
High emotional intelligence and patience
Collaborative, thoughtful, and mission-driven
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
At least two years of volunteer management or chapter-based organizational experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to build trust across diverse communities, including volunteers of varying ages
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Experience updating WordPress websites
Ability to travel approximately 10 to 15 percent
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Reliable transportation
Authorization to work in the United States
Preferred
Experience supporting grassroots fundraising efforts
Experience with DonorPerfect and Constant Contact
Experience developing newsletters or volunteer communications
Sewing knowledge helpful but not required
Compensation and Details
Full-time, exempt position reporting to the Executive Director
Salary range: $50,000–$55,000 annually
$5,000 annual healthcare stipend (no traditional benefits)
Anticipated start date: Mid-April 2025
