Position Overview

Reporting to the COO, the Program Specialist, Government Partnerships will be responsible for overseeing the launch and implementation of large-scale, government-funded diaper distribution programs. The Program Specialist will play a key role in ensuring seamless execution across internal teams, government stakeholders, and distribution partners with a focus on operational alignment, partner onboarding, and program scaling. Ideal candidates will bring strong experience in project management, government partnerships, cross-sector coordination, and logistics operations. This position sits at the intersection of our Operations and Programs departments.

The Program Specialist will be based in New York. This work will be primarily remote with additional time spent at our NY warehouse and meeting with government partners and hospitals. This individual will be required to travel throughout the state of New York and to our Los Angeles HQ.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Manages the day-to-day operations of Baby2Baby’s government-funded programs, kicking off with NY State in Summer 2025, ensuring distribution targets are met, contractual obligations are fulfilled, and initiatives are scaled effectively to support strategic growth.
• Serves as the primary point of contact for government agencies and state leaders across the country; partners with the Program team to cultivate and manage relationships with hospitals, health centers, and community-based organizations. Manages the onboarding processes and troubleshooting.
• Oversees the distribution of millions of diapers and other essential items to children living in poverty through Baby2Baby’s partnership model. Develops timelines, deliverables, and compliance tracking for each project.
• Works closely with Warehouse & Operations teams to secure adequate storage, manage inventory and logistics, and implement systems that support efficient, scalable program delivery.
• Collaborates with the Procurement team to source high-quality essentials. Monitors item stock and order fulfillment. Tracks expenditures and ensures programs operate within budget constraints.
• Leads program evaluation efforts, including impact reporting, data collection, and survey analysis to assess effectiveness and drive continuous improvement.
• Partners with Disaster Relief team in times of emergency as warranted.
• Partners with the Co-CEOs, COO, and Program Directors on strategic planning and the potential expansion of government-funded initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in the government and/or nonprofit sector.
• Nonprofit experience running a state or federally funded program.
• Proven ability to lead, implement and report on large-scale initiatives and/or grants.
• Proven ability to lead teams and foster a collaborative working environment.
• Ability to travel nationally as needed.
• Proven abilities in multi-tasking and problem-solving.
• Organized with strong attention to follow up, and able to work in a team environment.
• Strong interpersonal skills and results oriented.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and oral).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and the Google Suite.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working for a government official and/or administration on the state or federal level.
• Experience with hospital partnerships and familiarity with NY state’s healthcare system.
