    The Senior Director, Supply Chain Operations, is responsible for strategic initiatives and operational execution of all GCT logistics, transportation, aftermarket sales, recycling, donation acquisition, Attended Donation Centers, sustainability initiatives, Distribution Centers, and the Outlet Stores, including all staff and equipment.

    Role and Responsibilities

    • Oversee all Transportation, Donation Acquisition, Attended Donation Centers, Outlet Stores, Recycling, Sustainability, and After Market Sales operations.
    • Deliver “consistently meets/exceed” service levels with a 95% or better on-time delivery performance.
    • Full P+L responsibility and oversight of all assigned departments.
    • Responsible for optimized route plans in support of store and donation operations.
    • Drive after-market sales expansion and donations growth within the GCT operating territory.
    • Resolve all donor and customer concern/escalations in a timely and effective manner.
    • Oversees planning/assignment and allocation of available resources to best support business operations.
    • Develop seasonal and event-driven plans to support peaks in store and donation operations.
    • Identify opportunities to utilize surplus equipment. Identify equipment for retirement, applicable disposable methods and value to support GCT fleet operations.
    • Uphold safe work practices in support of a safety culture through awareness and observation; train and educate employees of safety requirements; reports any potential hazards or accidents.
    • Establish a clear direction for business partners (IT) to ensure the Transportation team’s technology needs are being met along with setting direction for innovative technology solutions.
    • Ensures departments achieve operational goals within budget.
    • Directs, supervises, and coordinates staff activities to ensure divisional goals are met.
    • Builds strong business relationships with vendors, community professionals, outside agencies, other business contacts, and internal stakeholdes
    • Recruits, selects, develops, evaluates and counsels his/her employees. Takes necessary employment action in accordance with Goodwill policies.
    • Provides leadership, guidance and professional development for staff. Models the expected behaviors for staff.
    • Engages Talent Acquisition to develop recruiting initiatives to attract and retain talent with the skills to succeed in the distribution and warehousing environment.
    • Oversee annual budget preparations for logistics, recycling, Outlets, dock operations, transportation, and Distribution Centers. Maintains financial viability.
    • Ensures the operations comply with governmental or other regulatory laws and guidelines including but not limited to OSHA, HAZMAT, and DOT.
    • Ensures departmental equity and compliance with all company policies and procedures.
    • Demonstrates ethics and complies with Corporate Compliance Program.
    • Meets Mandatory Yearly Training Hours requirement for this position.

    • Other duties as assigned.

    Supervisory Responsibility

    This position has supervisory responsibilities over the Distribution Center Mangers, Aftermarket Manager, Donation Acquisition and Attended Donation Center Managers, and the Director of Logistics and Donation Operations

    Required Skills & Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s or associates degree in business, logistics, supply chain or a related field (10 years of related experience may be considered in lieu of degree).
    • At least five years in a multi-unit leadership role, building teams, managing/developing staff, and responsible for the leadership of at least 100 employees.
    • Five to ten years’ experience in consumer goods distribution and logistics.
    • Experience managing distribution/warehouse centers exceeding 100K sq. ft.
    • Excellent analytical, creative/flexible problem solving, and decision-making skills.
    • Experience with Lean Methodologies.
    • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
    • Competency with Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Experience working with and employing marginalized populations.

    Physical Requirements

    • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    • Travel required locally and national.
    • Must be able to lift to 15 pounds at times.
    • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, and talk or hear.
    • The ability to cope with and tolerate moderate levels of stress is also a necessity. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
