Director of Finance and Administration
Patrick Henry College in Purcellville, Virginia invites applications for the position of Director of Finance and Administration. This is a full-time, on-site position.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field.
- Five (5) years of progressive leadership/administrative responsibility.
- Two (2) years of supervisory experience.
- Knowledge of General Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
- Knowledge of budget preparation monitoring and implementation.
- Ability to analyze problems, identify effective solutions, and take appropriate action using sound judgment and independent decision-making.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
- Knowledge of federal and state laws, policies and procedures related to college operations and financial administration.
- CPA preferred but not immediately required.
- Experience in Human Resource Management
- Knowledge of and experience with public or higher education financial systems.
- Proficient in software programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, TEAMs, and Great Plains Dynamics.
Job Duties:
- Reports to the President and serves as the College’s principal financial officer and Board-appointed Treasurer, overseeing all aspects of the College’s financial and fiscal management
- Partners with the Executive VP on long-term strategy and annual financial planning.
- Focuses on improving and supporting the student experience through effective financial leadership
- Provides strategic financial insight and leadership directing all financial and administrative operations, including:
- Accounting and finance
- Strategic planning for capital improvements and long-range financial health
- Budgeting
- Human resources, payroll and risk management
- Maintains compliance with audit standards, internal controls, and state/federal regulations.
- Advises on policy updates and manage external vendor relationships to support financial objectives.
- Provides timely and accurate analysis of budgets, financial reports, and financial trends
