    Communications Coordinator

    Carnegie Endowment for International Peace

The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a unique global network of policy research centers, is seeking a detail-oriented entry level communications coordinator to join its communications team in Washington, DC.

The  communications coordinator will oversee day to day operational tasks for the communications team including budget monitoring and expense reconciliation, scheduling meetings and room reservations, managing shared calendars, and onboarding new team members. The coordinator will work closely with Carnegie’s senior events manager to provide support on event logistics, editing invite language, scheduling guests, drafting promotional social media copy, and coordinating with the design team on visual assets. The coordinator will also work with the government affairs director to assist with congressional outreach, scheduling briefings, drafting newsletters, and other logistics. This position works closely with scholars and handles behind the scenes logistics and scheduling on two Carnegie podcasts: Carnegie Connects and Grand Tamasha.

The ideal candidate will be flexible and enthusiastic while working on a variety of different assignments and projects across the communications team and with scholars.

The ideal candidate should be organized with excellent attention to detail and be able to work independently to solve problems and complete projects quickly without sacrificing quality and accuracy. Strong writing and editing skills, as well as an interest in foreign policy issues, are essential. Previous experience with administrative support, event coordination, or internships on the Hill are a plus.

Please note that this position will operate on a hybrid basis, requiring in-office work on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. Events may require working outside of standard office hours.
