Descripción

The Intake & Program Support Associate is a full-time hybrid position based in Chicago. This position will be part of PILI’s Programs Team and will work under the supervision of the Senior Managing Attorney in coordination with all staff members to support PILI’s Pro Bono Program. 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective clients and conduct preliminary intake interviews by gathering relevant facts and identifying legal issues
  • Screen and track cases for assignment to pro bono attorneys and assists the team members with determining appropriate case placements
  • Communicate regularly in writing and by phone with clients and pro bono volunteers
  • Prepare, review and maintain client case files and data
  • Support outreach initiatives for and assist in planning and provide support for on-site clinics statewide
  • Maintain PILI’s client, case and volunteer data, and devise and implement system improvements
  • Assist in recruiting and supporting pro bono volunteers 
  • Conduct data and research analysis

Other Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and collaborate with the other members of PILI’s Programs Team
  • Assist in building relationships and collaborations with PILI partners
  • Assist with preparation of reports for internal and external stakeholders
  • Perform other duties as assigned 

Qualifications:

  • Minimum associate degree or other relevant experience supporting legal work, preferably with a legal services organization serving indigent clients
  • Able to work independently within a small nonprofit environment and proficient with technology
  • Able to provide excellent customer service that is culturally competent and empathetic
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills 
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Spanish language proficiency desired but not required
  • Ability to travel as well as work evenings and weekends with advance notice as needed
  • A valid driver’s license
  • Experience with data entry and using case management systems such as LegalServer is preferred, but not required
  • Interest in the law and improving the lives of low-income individuals and families

This is a full-time position with a salary commensurate with experience beginning at $50,000. including a generous benefits package with employer-paid health, dental and eye insurance and employer contributed retirement plan.
