    TITLE: Youth Development Professional

    DEPARTMENT: Operations

    REPORTS TO: Club Director

    COMPENSATION: $17 - $22 per hour, commensurate with experience

    SCHEDULE: Part-Time: Monday – Friday, 2:00 PM – 6:00 PM (20 hours/week)

    The Boys & Girls Clubs of MetroWest provides social, educational, physical, and cultural programming to enhance the development of youth and prepare young adults to be responsible and productive members of the community. As a Youth Development Professional, you are the cornerstone of the Club experience, directly impacting the lives of our members every day.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    The Youth Development Professional (YDP) in Marlborough is responsible for implementing, facilitating, and evaluating engaging activities within a designated program area. This role is ideal for a passionate individual who wants to create a fun, inclusive, and safe environment where members can build confidence, teamwork, and critical life skills.

    Core program areas include: Education & STEM Development, Character & Leadership Development, Social Recreation, and Health & Life Skills.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Program Development and Delivery

      • Effectively plan, implement, and administer high-quality programs, services, and activities for Club members.
      • Monitor and evaluate programs to ensure both child safety and program quality, tracking outcomes through required reports.
      • Promote and stimulate high program participation to ensure members are engaged and benefit fully from the Club's offerings.
    1. Preparing Youth for Success
      • Create a positive and encouraging environment that actively facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes (YDOs).
      • Provide guidance and serve as a positive role model to Club members, encouraging appropriate behavior and conflict resolution.
      • Register new members and participate in their Club orientation process, helping them integrate into the Club community.
      • Maintain order and manage behavior problems effectively and respectfully.
    2. Team Collaboration and Operations
      • Ensure a productive and collaborative work environment by actively participating in weekly staff meetings.
      • May be required to participate in special programs, events, and field trips.
      • May be required to drive the Club van for transportation, adhering to all safety protocols.

    EXPERIENCE/SKILLS REQUIRED:

      • Experience working with young people (school-age children) in a formal or informal setting is essential.
      • Demonstrated ability to motivate youth and safely supervise large groups of children in both recreation and education settings.
      • Knowledge of Positive Youth Development principles.
      • Ability to organize, plan, and implement quality programs effectively.
      • Collaborative, energetic, reliable, and flexible team member committed to the mission of the Boys & Girls Clubs.
      • Must possess a valid state driver’s license and meet all insurance company regulations for operating Club vehicles.

    PREFERRED SKILLS:

      • CPR and First Aid certifications (or willingness to obtain them immediately upon hire).
      • Bilingual in Portuguese is preferred to support communications with members and families.
