The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) is a non-profit, bipartisan public policy organization established in 1962 to provide strategic insights and practical policy solutions to decisionmakers concerned with global security and prosperity. Over the years, it has grown to be one of the largest organizations of its kind, with a staff of some 200 employees, including more than 120 analysts working to address the changing dynamics of international security across the globe.
Under the supervision of the Strategic Technology Director, the Deputy Director and Senior Fellow manages the day-to-day workflow of the program and plays a key role in supporting the Director to advance all initiatives. The Director will look to the Deputy Director and Senior Fellow to be an active contributor to major programmatic decisions, to be a key adviser and to actively support strategic planning for the program. The Deputy Director and Senior Fellow will be responsible for managing research initiatives and projects across a broad range of strategic technologies. Through these initiatives and projects, the Deputy Director and Senior Fellow will evaluate how technology affects the direction and pace of change in economies, interstate conflict, diplomacy, intelligence, and more, and will relate technology trends and bigger picture issues to specific policy proposals and actions. The Deputy Director will also share, with the Director, a variety of daily managerial responsibilities for personnel management, budget oversight, fundraising, and grant and contract management.
The salary range for this position is $160,000 - $180,000. Salary and title are based on the level of experience and expertise of the chosen candidate.
