    The LightEn Center of Consciousness & Action (LCCA) is a new 489-acre retreat center in the Blue Ridge mountains outside of Asheville, North Carolina, set to open in September 2025. LCCA will serve as a soul-focused sanctuary and learning center for individual and collective growth, exploration and transformation, focused on catalyzing the evolution of consciousness needed to solve humanity’s greatest challenges. The Center will host current and emerging leaders to cultivate and deepen the inner work needed to be more effective change agents in the world. LCCA is the home of LightEn US, which is part of the overall LightEn network.

    OVERVIEW:

    The Director of Housekeeping role represents an exciting opportunity for a detail-oriented, guest-focused leader to join LightEn US in its start-up phase. LightEn’s team is collectively working to deliver on an ambitious and world-changing mission, providing a world-class culture through a purpose driven lens. Further, this project is truly one-of-a-kind and is led by an extraordinary vision of its founders, transforming everyone who takes part.

    LCCA is located in Marshall, NC, approximately 30-min north of Asheville. Within the 489-acre property, the center is comprised of approximately 125 structures (existing + planned), over 44 acres. The center features five teaching spaces, an 8000+ sq ft spa, fitness center, auditorium, event hall, dining hall, reception building, administrative building, horticultural complex and 76 guest cabins.

    Currently, there are 12 LightEn US team members, and we are forecasted to grow to 50-60 team members by late-2025. The Director of Housekeeping will report directly to the Deputy General Manager and will manage a team of Housekeepers and Campus Attendants to create an exceptional guest experience. In addition to the core competencies outlined below, the right candidate will have resonance with LightEn’s vision, be flexible, have a desire to learn, maintain a willingness to contribute when needed, and an ability to lead from a place of inclusiveness, kindness and service.

    JOB PURPOSE:

    We are seeking a diligent Director of Housekeeping to join our team and ensure all of the center’s structures are cleaned and maintained to our standard of excellence. The Director of Housekeeping will collaborate with other team leaders and lead the housekeeping team to ensure a seamless guest experience. The housekeeping team is also responsible for maintaining clean and comfortable working spaces for team members. The ideal candidate is a conscientious and proactive leader who is able to maintain a high-level of confidentiality.

    All team members are expected to model LightEn’s approach and values of reflection, collaboration, and soul-infused action and are encouraged and supported to do so throughout their own practices.

    Specific job responsibilities include but are not limited to:

    • Ensure the overall cleanliness and standards of excellence are met for the guest cabins, administrative offices, teaching spaces, dining room, auditorium and any other common areas.
    • Provide warm and welcoming interactions with guests and team members, leading with a sense of humility and kindness.
    • Lead a team of housekeepers and campus attendants to ensure team goals and standards are met, while embodying LightEn’s values.
    • Build meaningful relationships across the organization to ensure the housekeeping team has a deep understanding of all activities on campus, and strong communication and feedback loops with colleagues.
    • Mentor and lead the housekeeping team through training on service standards, and organize and facilitate staff trainings, as needed.
    • Inspect all cabins, common areas, and offices for cleanliness and to ensure standards are met, and communicate to the maintenance team when repairs are needed.
    • Prepare and monitor the budget and be able to flex staffing to accommodate guest visits.
    • Manage, coach and develop team members, evaluate performance and quickly address issues.
    • Purchase, organize, and inventory supplies and equipment for housekeeping department, ensuring the center is fully stocked.
    • Collaborate with colleagues to meet collective goals and seek ways to continually improve and grow.

    SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS:

    • Resonance with LightEn’s mission and vision and passion for working collaboratively with a team and sharing your knowledge.
    • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, flexibility, and ability to work independently.
    • Experienced using Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word and Excel).
    • Ability and willingness to build meaningful relationships.
    • Logical and proactive, and with the intuition to make decisions from LightEn’s culture of inclusiveness, kindness and consideration to all team members, guests, speakers and instructors.
    • Ability to work a flexible schedule to meet business demands, including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
    • Bilingual in English & Spanish, preferred.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF THE ROLE:

    • Ability to walk several miles each day, bend, climb, stand and lift heavy materials.
    • Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
    • Maintain internal service standards, including wearing a company provided uniform and ensuring a neat appearance.
    • Vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

    TIME REQUIREMENTS:

    • Ability to work longer days during peak programming periods with a more flexible schedule in slower months.
    • Must be able to respond to staffing shortages as well as housekeeping and facilities emergencies effectively, at any hour of the day.

    EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

    • Hospitality Management degree preferred or equivalent of work experience
    • Minimum 2-3 years of experience managing a team.

    SALARY + BENEFITS: The annual salary range for this role is $112,000-$118,000. LightEn also offers health benefits, paid time off, a 403(b) match, and additional benefits.
