    Mercado Global

Development Database & Donor Relations Coordinator

    About Mercado Global

Mercado Global is a nonprofit organization that connects sustainable and ethical fashion with the financial independence of rural women artisan entrepreneurs. Through partnerships with brands including Levi Strauss, Stitch Fix, Stuart Weitzman, Nordstrom, and Bloomingdale's, we help Indigenous women artisans in Latin America earn critical income, keep their children in school, and take on leadership roles in their communities. Since our founding, we have generated nearly $10 million in sales for artisan partners and supported more than 2,000 women entrepreneurs.

    Why We Are Hiring

Our donor community is growing — and so is the complexity and importance of the relationships we steward.

This role exists to make sure no relationship slips through the cracks. You will work closely with our Senior Development Manager to track engagements, manage our CRM, and ensure that every donor interaction — from an initial outreach to a multi-year giving relationship — is handled with care and precision. As you grow into the role, you will begin building your own relationships within our donor network, developing a deep understanding of what motivates our supporters and how we can best serve them.

This is a role for someone who thrives in a high-context environment, takes ownership without being asked, and finds genuine satisfaction in making a complex operation run seamlessly behind the scenes.

    Position Overview

The Development Database & Donor Relations Coordinator is a critical right-hand position to our Senior Development Manager. You will own our Salesforce database, support donor communications and outreach, and help ensure our fundraising operations are efficient, accurate, and mission-aligned.

Location: Remote — open to candidates based anywhere in Latin America, with a preference for Mexico, Guatemala, or Costa Rica.

    Type: Full-Time

    Who You Are

You are exceptionally reliable, impact-focused, and energized by working in fast-moving, high-stakes environments. You do not wait to be told what to do — you anticipate needs, manage up when necessary, and ensure nothing falls through the cracks. You bring strong organizational judgment, clear and confident written communication, and the ability to hold multiple high-context workstreams simultaneously without losing sight of the details that matter.

You care deeply about the mission and understand that behind every data entry, every acknowledgement letter, and every pipeline report is a real relationship — and ultimately, a real impact on the lives of women artisans across Latin America.

    Key Responsibilities

    Salesforce & Data Management

    • Manage all donation entry across platforms including Salesforce, Paybee, and Donorbox with accuracy and timeliness
    • Enter and maintain donor information, meeting debriefs, and campaign data
    • Set up donor flags, campaigns, and engagement plans
    • Pull pipeline reports and surface data-driven insights for the fundraising team

    Donor Relations & Outreach Support

    • Manage relationships with a portfolio of donors, including recurring monthly donors and entry-level supporters, ensuring each feels valued and connected to the mission.
    • Draft and send timely, personalized acknowledgement letters and donor correspondence
    • Support outreach pipelines and serve as backup on donor communications — drafting emails and debriefs as needed
    • Begin building your own relationships within Mercado Global's donor and supporter network over time

    Administrative & Team Support

    • Prepare reports and agendas for the Senior Development Manager
    • Assist in drafting Development Committee and Special Projects Committee meeting packets under the Director's supervision
    • Support the broader fundraising team with research, communications, and special projects as needed

    Qualifications

    Required

    • 2–3 years of CRM experience in a nonprofit development context (not marketing or sales)
    • Salesforce experience strongly preferred; familiarity with Paybee and/or Donorbox a plus
    • Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
    • Strong written communication skills — confident drafting donor-facing emails, letters, and reports
    • Proven ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deadlines independently
    • Passion for Mercado Global's mission
    • Fluency in English required; Spanish strongly preferred

    Preferred

    • Experience in a nonprofit development or fundraising environment
    • Familiarity with donor acknowledgement processes and gift processing
    • Based in Mexico, Guatemala, or Costa Rica

    What We Offer

    • The opportunity to join a mission-driven team making a lasting difference in the lives of women artisans across Latin America
    • A close-knit, collaborative, and high-trust work environment where your contributions are visible and valued
    • Competitive nonprofit salary commensurate with experience
    • Fully remote with flexibility
    • Room to grow — this role has a clear path toward expanded donor relationship management and development strategy

    How to Apply

Please send your resume and a brief cover letter explaining your interest in this role and your relevant

Salesforce or CRM experience to jobs@mercadoglobal.org. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.
