    Position Overview

    The Wellbeing Manager will be pivotal in developing and leading workshops, seminars, and a social-emotional learning curriculum tailored to the needs of caregivers, guardians, and youth within our community. This role directly engages families to provide guidance, support, and referrals for mental and behavioral health services. The Wellbeing Manager will be a crucial contributor to the NMBLC’s positive youth development.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Design and implement workshops and seminars to strengthen the Caregiver Council within the Highland Cluster, addressing specific needs and challenges caregivers face.
    • Develop and refine the process for delivering the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Assessment to youth, caregivers, and guardians attending NMBLC programs.
    • Develop a comprehensive social-emotional learning curriculum applicable to both in-school and out-of-school programming, enriching the NMBLC’s positive youth development initiatives.
    • Conduct one-on-one meetings with caregivers and guardians to assess and address acute and/or pressing mental and behavioral health needs, providing referrals and general guidance as necessary.
    • Collaborate with mental health professionals, educational institutions, and community organizations to enhance the support network available to families.
    • Maintain effective communication channels between UpLift partners and stakeholders, including city of Albuquerque departments (e.g., Violence Intervention Prevention Program, Family and Community Services, etc.) and other collaborating agencies and other parties involved in community resiliency throughout the region.
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of the workshops, seminars, and learning curriculum, making adjustments based on feedback and evolving needs.
    • Advocate for the mental and emotional well-being of the communities served, raising awareness of available resources and support mechanisms.
    • Prepare reports and presentations for the NMBLC leadership and stakeholders, highlighting progress, challenges, and opportunities within the Caregiver Council and youth programming.
    • ReAgents – curriculum, recruiting instructors, expanding program, community providers network

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Education, or a related field.
    • A licensed Social Worker (LSW) or similar professional qualification is highly desirable.
    • A minimum of three years’ experience in social work, counseling, or a closely related field, with a focus on youth and family services.
    • Demonstrated ability to develop and facilitate workshops, seminars, and learning programs.
    • Strong understanding of social-emotional learning principles and their application in youth development.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with a diverse range of individuals and groups.
    • Proven ability to work independently, as well as part of a team, in a fast-paced and changing environment.
    • Commitment to the values and mission of the NMBLC, with a passion for making a positive impact in the lives of Black families and communities.

    Working Conditions

    • This is a full-time position that may require flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to accommodate the scheduling of workshops, seminars, and meetings.
    • The role may involve travel for outreach, collaboration, and program delivery
