Established in 1902, Lutheran Settlement House (LSH) is a non-profit, community-based organization committed to serving vulnerable children, adults, and families living in Philadelphia. Over the past century, the programs and services offered by LSH have changed in response to the evolving needs of the community. However, the core mission of Lutheran Settlement House —"to empower individuals, families, and communities to achieve and maintain self-sufficiency through an integrated program of social, educational, and advocacy services"— has remained constant.
Scope of Position:
Under the supervision of the Bilingual Domestic Violence Program’s (BDVP) Hotline Manager, the Hotline Counselor (on-call) is primarily responsible for providing hotline counseling and referrals to victims of domestic violence and their families on the Philadelphia Domestic Violence Hotline (PDVH). The Hotline Counselor ensures the normal ongoing operations of LSH’s hotline phone systems during their shift. In partnership with three other DV organizations, LSH covers the hotline, Monday to Friday, 7am-9pm. The On-call Hotline Counselor serves as a back-up to regularly scheduled counselors in cases of vacations or time-offs. This position is on site at LSH’s main office with opportunities for additional hours as schedule allows.
