    Role Overview

Too Young to Wed is a global organization working to end child marriage and advance girls’ rights through education, protection, and long-term community change. Our work brings together advocacy, storytelling, policy, and on-the-ground programs in communities where girls face the greatest barriers—and where thoughtful, steady leadership matters deeply.

Even though Easy Apply is listed, interested candidates should submit a résumé and cover letter in PDF format to careers@tooyoungtowed.org. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis.

The Executive Liaison (Consultant to the CEO) is a time-limited, high-impact role supporting the CEO during an initial contract phase. The focus is on strengthening preparation, coordination, and follow-through around meetings, relationships, and priorities that shape the organization’s external presence and long-term direction.

This role offers a close, meaningful view into how a mission-driven organization is led day to day. It is designed as a trial engagement to assess mutual fit, working style, and trust before any potential transition to a full-time employee role. The consultant supports the CEO directly in an advisory and coordination capacity, while final judgment, authority, and decision-making remain with the CEO. The role is especially well suited to a sharp, adaptable generalist who learns quickly, exercises sound judgment, and takes quiet pride in making complex, purpose-driven work run smoothly.

    Scope of Work (Consulting Phase)

    Executive Support & Preparation

    • Prepare background materials, briefing notes, and contextual summaries for meetings
    • Support meeting framing by drafting agendas and identifying key considerations
    • Track decisions, commitments, and follow-ups in shared documentation
    • Draft follow-up communications for CEO review and approval

    Meetings, Coordination & Presence

    • Attend selected meetings as an observer and note-taker
    • Capture themes, questions, and action items to support continuity
    • Coordinate logistics for meetings, events, and local travel
    • Serve as a coordination point for scheduling and logistics, without independent authority

    Follow-Through & Light Coordination

    • Maintain organized records related to meetings, correspondence, and decisions
    • Support follow-up by coordinating with staff or consultants at the CEO’s direction
    • Surface gaps, risks, or missed handoffs to the CEO for resolution

    Qualifications & Profile

    Required

    • Demonstrated ability to operate in high-trust, high-discretion settings, including supporting complex schedules, sensitive communications, and reliable follow-through for senior or public-facing leaders
    • Exceptional organizational skills, sound judgment, and consistent follow-through
    • Strong written communication and synthesis skills
    • Comfort managing confidential information with care and professionalism
    • Ability to handle complexity calmly, prioritize effectively, and adapt in fast-moving environments
    • Availability to work primarily in person in Peekskill, NY

    Preferred

    • Experience in nonprofit, advocacy, media, diplomacy, or other mission-driven settings
    • Familiarity with supporting public-facing leadership and managing sensitive external relationships
    • Comfort supporting light operational coordination, including tracking follow-ups, maintaining organized records, and using digital tools to support execution and continuity
    • Strong technical proficiency, including comfort with calendars, shared documents, databases, and collaboration tools in a fast-moving environment
    • Interest in global justice, education, or human rights work

    Transition to Employment (If Applicable)

This consulting engagement is time-limited and does not guarantee employment.

If the engagement is successful and organizational needs align, Too Young to Wed may, at its discretion, extend a separate offer of full-time, at-will employment with benefits under a new employment agreement.

    Why This Role Matters

The work of advancing girls’ rights often happens through relationships, conversations, and commitments that require care and continuity. This consulting role supports the CEO in showing up prepared, present, and accountable — while allowing both parties to assess fit before a longer-term commitment.
