    Leading civil rights law firm seeks multiple motivated full-time paralegals.

    Summary of Position: GLAD Law Paralegals play a key role in advancing the mission and goals of the organization by providing critical technical and analytic work in support of the Legal Department. Paralegals prepare legal and social science research, court documents and correspondence in support of litigation and policy initiatives. Paralegals also provide operational support including coordinating meetings, travel, expenses and records maintenance.

    Positions include comprehensive training and competitive benefits including health insurance, 401K and opportunities for professional growth. Starting salary is $60,250 with increases based on a candidate’s skills, knowledge and experience.

    Requirements:

    • Bachelor’s degree, ABA-Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent experience
    • Availability full-time, Monday through Friday 9am-5pm from Boston starting in June 2026 (Hybrid schedule available after onboarding training is complete)
    • Ability to work in a team environment with a customer-service focus. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, that convey professionalism and responsiveness. Ability to manage time well, prioritize effectively, and handle multiple deadlines.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Experience with Sharepoint and MyCase a plus.
    • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality of organization’s internal and personnel affairs, and client files and information. Understands ethical rules of position in accordance with client representation and advocacy.
    • Well-developed interpersonal skills; ability to interact effectively with people at all organizational levels. Ability to contribute to a collaborative culture that centers racial justice, inclusion and participation.
    • Demonstrated commitment to tearing down outdated laws and stereotypes that have denied full equality for LGBTQ+ people and those with HIV/AIDS.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

    • Promptly responds to requests for information or action, in-person and through electronic communication channels, such as email, voicemail, Teams and Slack.
    • Utilizes technology programs to effectively manage case and research files, including MS Word, PowerPoint and Excel, Adobe, Sharepoint, MyCase, and e-discovery tools. Consistently prepares and maintains a variety of case and research files, e.g. court documents, information requests, discovery letters, and exhibits lists.
    • Using one or more types of software and public information databases, performs thorough and accurate data searches, report design and other data retrieval assignments in support of case or program specific legal matters. Develops effective methods for automating reports and data and establishes procedures for other users to enter and retrieve data.
    • Supports attorneys in all aspects of preparation for legal proceedings, including legislative testimony, civil discovery and trial.
    • Knowledge and experience with state and federal filing requirements, document productions, Bluebooking and cite checking. Effectively performs basic factual and legal research and retrieves relevant cases, statutes and guidelines.
    • Organizes, reviews and summarizes legal and factual documents to assist attorneys in preparation for testimony, presentations, and hearings. With approval, processes documents in electronic and hard copy, and files pleadings electronically with state and federal courts, including CM/ECF.
    • Monitors the progress of pending cases and initiates action to ensure legal pleadings, forms, correspondence and other documents are prepared and submitted timely. Consistently keeps appropriate staff members informed about the status of cases and on-going research projects.
    • Under the direction of an attorney or supervisor, assists with the preparation of legal documents, including pleadings, motions and exhibits, discovery requests/responses and correspondence in accordance with court rules and deadlines.
    • Successfully performs other related duties as assigned including copying, scanning, mailing, arranging and accounting for travel and minor purchases.
