    Hillel of Colorado (HOC) seeks a full-time Development Director (Director) to begin summer, 2025.

    About HOC

    Headquartered at the Merage & Allon Hillel Center next to the University of Denver, HOC is one of more than 500+ North American affiliates of Hillel International and an independent 501(c)3. HOC is a multi-campus Jewish student organization that strengthens college students’ connections to Jewish life by providing programs and engagement opportunities in our warm, welcoming homes-away-from-home for 2,000+ Jewish college students and their friends and allies in Colorado. With an annual budget of approximately $1M, HOC currently has locations at the University of Denver, Colorado State University in Ft. Collins, and an office on Auraria Campus, a campus that includes Metropolitan State University, University of Colorado Denver, and Community College of Denver.

    About the Position:

    The Director will plan and implement a multi-pronged statewide fundraising strategy for HOC with support from HOC’s Executive Director, and in concert with the rest of the HOC team. The Director will lead all development functions including management of appeals, campaigns, donor cultivation, implementation of our grassroots fundraising, and special events.

    Specifically, the Director will:

    • Design and implement a comprehensive annual development plan with clear processes that include regular oversight of fundraising goals.
    • Create and implement a stewardship effort that supports current donor stewards, significantly increases the number of donors being stewarded.
    • Cultivate and solicit a portfolio of mid-level donors. While doing this, the Director will identify new potential major donors for the Executive Director and key board members to cultivate.
    • Support other HOC staff as they implement HOC’s biannual crowdfunding appeals on each campus. Assure these annual campus and community appeals are well-integrated into the overall Development and Marketing plans to assure campus development success.
    • Work with other HOC staff to ensure that HOC’s Little Green Light (LGL) donor database is curated, up to date, accurate, and captures donor data and interactions. Employ best practices in record-keeping across development and financial operations.
    • Initiate and staff HOC’s first ever alumni fundraising campaign, including reaching out to university alumni and development departments, and moderating university-specific and geographic-specific groups on Hillel International’s Jewish Career Network platform.
    • Support the Executive Director in Major Gift and Legacy gift solicitations.

    Other Responsibilities:

    • Serve as an integral part of HOC’s staff leadership team.
    • Attend Board of Trustees and Budget & Finance Committee meetings, and staff the Board Development Committee.
    • Establish sustaining relationships with potential, current, and past donors in Colorado and beyond.
    • Along with other leadership team members, represent HOC in the community to raise Hillel’s profile.

    About You: How Do You Know if You are Qualified?

    • You have a minimum of 3-5 years consecutively working in development or a closely related field. Nonprofit experience or employment in a mission-driven organization is a bonus.
    • You see yourself a leader and have work experience that prepares you to be on a leadership team.
      • You have demonstrated exceptional written and verbal communication skills and are proficient in Microsoft Suite applications, CRM and data management. Experience with LGL is a bonus.
      • You are willing to work in person as part of a team. Some nights and weekends might be required. There is some flexibility for a hybrid work environment.

    • Accomplished project-management, problem-solving, time-management and organizational skills – and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining quality.
