    Development Associate

    Salary Range: $55,000-$65,000

    Reports to: Development Manager

    Full time – Salaried

    Location: Hybrid based in Nebraska

    Job Purpose:

    The Development Associate supports the growth and sustainability of IBBG by managing donor engagement, maintaining accurate and organized development systems, and supporting fundraising campaigns and events. This role plays a key part in strengthening donor relationships, expanding community giving, and ensuring that IBBG has the resources needed to advance its mission. The Development Associate will manage philanthropic programs such as IBBGives and Brick by Brick, maintain donor records in Bloomerang, Beloved Volunteer program and support the execution of fundraising strategies that reflect IBBG’s values and community‑centered approach.

    Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (communications, nonprofit management, business, or similar) or 2–3 years of equivalent professional experience. Basic design skills using Canva or similar platforms and experience with donor software/CRMs are highly desired. Ability to handle confidential donor and organizational information with discretion is required.

    Core Functions:

    Donor Data & Development Operations

    • Maintain and update the CRM system with accurate, timely data entry and reporting
    • Process donations and ensure timely gift entry and acknowledgments
    • Prepare materials for donor meetings and presentations
    • Support donor communications and stewardship through the CRM system, including newsletter design, donor acknowledgments, contribution updates, and mailings

    Fundraising Campaigns & Events

    • Support planning and execution of fundraising events and campaigns
    • Assist with tabling at community or fundraising events as needed
    • Coordinate logistics, timelines, and volunteer involvement
    • Monitor social media content related to fundraising and donor engagement

    Development Administrative Support

    • Perform prospect research and analysis for prospective donors and sponsors; collaborate with the Development Manager on fundraising strategy
    • Create monthly fundraising reports, mailing lists, and dashboards
    • Prepare agendas, notes, or follow‑up items for development meetings as needed
    • Assist with administrative tasks that support workflow and team goals

    Volunteer Program Management

    • Lead and coordinate IBBG’s Beloved Volunteer program, serving as the primary point of contact for volunteer recruitment, onboarding, and retention
    • Connect volunteers to volunteer opportunities within IBBG
    • Develop and implement volunteer recognition efforts that celebrate contributions and foster long‑term engagement
    • Maintain accurate volunteer records and communications through the CRM system

    Other Duties

    • Represent the organization at community tabling events and outreach activities
    • Support additional responsibilities aligned with the role and organizational priorities, in coordination with management

    Estimated Distribution of Duties:

    50% Fundraising Campaigns & Events

    Required Skills:

    • Strong writing, editing, and communication skills
    • Experience with donor databases/CRM systems
    • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities
    • Self‑starter who anticipates needs and takes initiative
    • Solutions‑oriented approach to problem‑solving
    • Strong interpersonal communication skills for engaging vendors, team members, donors, and other stakeholders
    • with Slack, Monday.com, and Google Suite
    • Strong project management skills
    • Ability to present information concisely and effectively
    • Willingness to learn, grow, and contribute to a positive workplace culture
    • Comfortable working both independently and collaboratively across teams
    • Ability to maintain confidentiality of donor and organizational information

    Physical Requirements:

    • Hybrid work environment (mainly remote)
    • Frequent telephonic and virtual communications, hearing and seeing
    • Frequent walking, standing, and sitting
    • Frequent driving

    Other Requirements:

    • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as necessary
    • Access to reliable transportation
