ICTJ is searching for a Major Gifts Officer to join the Development team.
DEVELOPMENT OFFICER – MAJOR GIFTS
The Major Gifts Officer will contribute to growing philanthropic support for ICTJ’s mission by identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding major individual donors and family foundations and supporting the Director of Development on work with the organization’s top individual and foundation donors and prospects.
MAJOR DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITY
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and grow a portfolio of individual donors and prospects (capable of giving at the $10,000-$25,000 level) through all phases of the giving cycle, from discovery and engagement through cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship.
- With supervision from Director of Development, launch an annual strategy for meaningful engagement with donors, including the focus on planning and producing annual benefit and cultivation events. Partner with communications colleagues on the creation of collateral and event execution.
- Establish meaningful touch points with donors and prospects, including meetings and delivery of ICTJ content aligned with donor interests.
- Assist Director of Development with managing top donors and prospects, including individuals and foundations.
- Maintain detailed contact reports on prospect and donor records. Actively track moves and interactions in the CRM.
- Support Director of Development on efforts to grow prospect pipeline through research, rating and prospect prioritization.
- Partner with program and finance colleagues on written communications, stewardship reports, proposals, and presentations for donors.
- Collaborate with and support executive leadership with respect to cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts, donor briefings and correspondence.
- Perform other development-related duties and undertake projects as needed.

Related Skills and Knowledge:
- Ability to use current desktop office technologies (Microsoft Office suite, Raiser’s Edge) and research tools (such as Kindsight, iWave, Candid) proficiently.
- Demonstrated accomplishments in managing donor portfolios, making solicitations and achieving personal and departmental fundraising goals.
