    Summary

    The Individual Giving Officer is responsible for building and executing key components of CERI’s individual giving program, focusing on donors giving between $250 and $10,000. Reporting to the Development Director and working closely with the Evaluation & Communications Director and the Executive Director, this role co-develops and executes CERI’s individual giving strategy, including annual growth planning, donor stewardship, and moves management for current and prospective donors.

    This position requires strong relationship-building, organizational, and communication skills, as well as the ability to prioritize and deliver results within limited hours. Given CERI’s mission, experience working with diverse populations, including refugees and immigrants, is essential. The Development Officer is expected to manage assigned responsibilities independently, while contributing to the growth and sustainability of CERI’s individual giving program in a culturally responsive and inclusive manner.

    Primary Areas of Responsibility

    Individual Giving Strategy and Planning

    • Co-create CERI’s annual individual giving growth plan in collaboration with the Development Director and fundraising team.
    • Develop and maintain a donor stewardship and acknowledgement plan for individual donors.
    • Create and implement a moves management approach for current and prospective individual donors.
    • Contribute insights and recommendations based on donor engagement and giving trends.

    Donor Cultivation, Solicitation & Stewardship

    • Manage a portfolio of individual donors and prospects at the $250–$10,000 level.
    • Conduct donor outreach via email, phone, and virtual or in-person meetings.
    • Support the planning, scheduling, and follow-up for 1:1 donor meetings.
    • Ensure timely and personalized stewardship, including thank-you calls, emails, and updates.
    • Create heartfelt and timely donor acknowledgement letters and materials.
    • Execute consistent donor communications in coordination with the communications team.
    • Support monthly donor-facing newsletters and impact updates.

    Campaign Planning & Execution

    • Plan and execute two to three annual individual giving campaigns (e.g., year-end appeal, Giving Tuesday, Give in May).
    • Collaborate with the Evaluation & Communications Director and communications team on campaign messaging and materials (email, mail, social media).
    • Track campaign performance and report progress toward goals.

    Donor Events & Engagement Activities

    • Support the planning and execution of donor appreciation events, small gatherings, or briefings.
    • Assist with event logistics, donor outreach, and follow-up communications.
    • Coordinate with internal staff to ensure events reflect CERI’s mission and values.

    Donor Data, Reporting & Systems

    • Maintain accurate donor records, contact notes, and giving history in Salesforce.
    • Help build and strengthen tracking systems for individual giving.
    • Generate donor reports and monitor trends in donor retention and giving levels.

    Internal Collaboration & Strategic Support

    • Participate in development team meetings and cross-departmental collaboration.
    • Support storytelling and impact-gathering efforts with program staff.
    • Ensure individual giving activities align with overall organizational goals and messaging.

    Qualifications

    • 3+ years of nonprofit fundraising experience, with a focus on individual giving preferred.
    • Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
    • Experience using donor management systems (e.g., Salesforce, Little Green Light).
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
    • Demonstrated commitment to mental health, social justice, and culturally responsive care.

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Experience working with immigrant, refugee, or historically marginalized communities.
    • Bilingual or multilingual skills.
    • Experience with donor events or annual giving campaigns.

    Compensación

    401K with 3% match after 6 months of employment, up to $500 per month flexible allowance for wellness; up to 20 days PTO per year.
