    Descripción

WRNS Studio Foundation offers scholarships to encourage and support Black students pursuing higher education and careers in architecture by providing multi-year academic and financial support. In addition to the financial support, the foundation provides dedicated advisors who assist in developing new professional relationships for the awardees. Each year there is a call for applications, with the intent to award a scholarship in the spring of that year.

To support our current and future scholarship recipients while allowing the Board to focus on high-level strategy and fundraising, the Foundation is seeking a detail-oriented Program Coordinator. This role serves as the central point of operational continuity, ensuring our scholarship administration, mentorship programs, and daily governance are executed with reliability and efficiency. Future plans may include program growth and expansion including external fundraising.

As our first Program Coordinator, you will be responsible for streamlining our day-to-day logistics, turning our workflow into a structured, impactful operation. While the role can be performed remotely, a hybrid arrangement is preferred.

    Key Responsibilities

    Scholarship & Financial Administration

    • Coordinate and process student payment disbursements according to established schedules.
    • Track scholarship allocations and assist in preparing documentation for financial reporting.
    • Support compliance processes to maintain 501(c)(3) requirements.
    • Coordinate with students for expense reimbursements and annual recertifications

    Application & Recruitment Management

    • Manage the full lifecycle of the application cycle, including timelines and communications.
    • Conduct preliminary reviews of applications and organize materials for Board evaluation.
    • Lead outreach to colleges, universities, and community organizations to expand our recruitment pipeline.

    Professional Advancement

    • Coordinate alumni programming and networking events to foster a lifelong community.
    • Maintain the alumni database and track career milestones and impact.
    • Facilitate meaningful connections between current scholars and the alumni network.

    Marketing & Communications

    • Contribute to the Foundation’s social media presence and lead light content creation.
    • Support storytelling initiatives that highlight the success and impact of our scholars.

    Governance & Board Support

    • Prepare board meeting materials, including agendas, program updates, and reporting summaries.
    • Distribute internal communications and track follow-up items from meetings.
    • Maintain governance documentation to ensure alignment with board policies.

    Qualifications

    • Experience: 1–2+ years of experience in program coordination, non-profit administration, or a related operational role.
    • Communication: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; ability to represent the Foundation professionally to community partners and donors.
    • Organizational Skills: A “Getting Things Done” mindset with the ability to manage multiple projects independently.
    • Technical Savvy: Proficiency with database management and financial tracking tools.
    • Mission-Driven: A passion for student success and community impact.

    Why Join Us?

This is a pivotal moment for the Foundation. By taking the lead on program logistics, you will directly enable our Board to focus on growth, partnerships and long-term strategy, effectively scaling the impact we have on the students we serve.

    Optional: Additional Areas of Interest

While the primary focus of this role is operational, we are particularly interested in candidates who can assist in scaling our reach through the following:

    • Fundraising Support: Assist the Board in executing fundraising campaigns, managing donor databases, and drafting solicitation materials or grant applications.
    • Strategic Partnerships: Identify and initiate contact with potential corporate partners, professional associations, and industry leaders to expand scholarship and sponsorship opportunities.
    • Networking & Representation: Act as a secondary ambassador for the Foundation at community events and industry mixers to build brand awareness and recruit new stakeholders.
    • Resource Development: Help identify new revenue streams or in-kind donation opportunities that align with the Foundation’s mission and scholar needs.
    • Relationship Management: Maintain communications with scholarship recipients and become a trusted advisor as they navigate the educational logistics with the support of the Foundation.
