Forward Learning Youth and Young Adults (FLYY) is a mission-driven organization dedicated to supporting youth, young adults, and families through accessible, relationship-centered mental health services. We provide therapy, skill development, service facilitation and psychoeducation through a variety of modalities, to individuals navigating an array of mental health needs. FLYY operates within a flexible, community-based model that extends beyond traditional office settings, allowing staff to meet clients where they are and play an active role in shaping responsive, relationship-centered care.
Position Overview
FLYY is seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinical Director to lead and strengthen our clinical services. This role blends clinical supervision with strategic and operational leadership, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, trauma-informed care across all programs.
The Clinical Director plays a key role in shaping clinical practice, supporting staff development, and partnering with leadership to expand and enhance services.
Key Responsibilities
Clinical Leadership & Supervision
- Provide clinical supervision to staff delivering therapeutic services and for clinicians with training licenses working towards full licensure
- Support clinicians through case consultation, including weekly team meetings
- Ensure delivery of high-quality, ethical, and trauma-informed mental health services
- Guide staff in adapting therapeutic approaches to meet diverse client needs
Program Oversight & Development
- Oversee clinical documentation, compliance, and file management
- Collaborate with program directors to lead the development of clinical programming and drive clinical quality standards across all programs
- Partner with the Executive Director on strategic growth and service delivery
- Maintain best practices for community and home-based services
Staff Development & Support
- Identify and coordinate professional development and training opportunities
- Foster a supportive, collaborative, and growth-oriented team culture
- Participate in recruitment, hiring, and onboarding of clinical staff
Internship & Training Program
- Provide oversight and collaboration for FLYY’s internship program
- Ensure meaningful training experiences and appropriate supervision for interns
Qualifications
- Master’s degree or higher in Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, or related field from a graduate program that meets nationally recognized accreditation requirements
- Active clinical licensure (e.g., LCSW, LPC, LMFT) for 5 years or more. Candidates holding a training license are not eligible for this position.
- Strong background in trauma-informed care with adolescents, young adults, and families
- Experience providing mental health services in community or home-based settings
- Demonstrated leadership, supervision, and team development experience
- Ability to work flexibly across settings and adapt to client needs
- Commitment to LGBTQIA+ affirming practices and creating a safe, inclusive environment for all clients and staff
- Eligible candidates must pass a Wisconsin caregiver background check and criminal history screening.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience developing or leading clinical programs
- Experience in supervising in- training clinicians with both reflective and administrative lenses
- Experience with modalities such as IFS, DBT, CBT, Motivational Interviewing, somatic work, mindfulness, or nature-based therapy
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
- Dane County CCS certification
- Experience working with commercial insurance
