    Executive Director

    Creative Living Community of CT

    Location: Connecticut (Hybrid – on-site and remote as needed)

    Reports to: Board of Directors

    Employment Type: Part-Time, Exempt

    About the Organization

    Our nonprofit organization is dedicated to empowering neurodiverse adults (ages 22 and over)

    by providing access to affordable housing, meaningful employment opportunities, and

    inclusive social/recreational programming. We believe every individual deserves the

    opportunity to live independently, work with purpose, and connect with community.

    Position Summary

    The Executive Director (ED) serves as the chief executive officer and is responsible for the

    overall leadership, strategic direction, and management of the organization. The ED ensures that

    programs, partnerships, and operations align with the mission and goals established by the

    Board. This role requires a dynamic, compassionate leader with a strong background in nonprofit

    management, program development, and community engagement — particularly within

    neurodiversity, disability services, or social-impact sectors.

    Key Responsibilities

    Leadership & Strategy

     Provide strategic vision and operational leadership in partnership with the Board of

    Directors.

     Develop, implement, and evaluate programs and services that align with the

    organization’s mission and strategic goals.

     Foster a culture of inclusion, innovation, and accountability within the organization.

    Program Management & Development

     Oversee housing initiatives, employment-placement programs, and social/recreational

    opportunities for neurodiverse adults.

     Collaborate with community partners, employers, and service providers to develop and

    enhance social and recreational program offerings to neurodiverse adults.

     Ensure program outcomes are measured, reported, and continuously improved.

    Fundraising & Financial Management

     Lead fundraising initiatives including grant writing, donor cultivation, and special events.

     Develop and manage the annual budget in collaboration with the Treasurer and Board

    Finance Committee.

     Ensure financial sustainability through diverse revenue streams and responsible fiscal

    oversight.

     Manage expenses, expenditures and income and complete reports as necessary

     Ensure that all money matters are handled in accordance with law and timelines

    Community Engagement & Advocacy

     Serve as the public face of the organization and key advocate for neurodiverse individuals

    in Connecticut.

     Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, families, community partners,

    donors, and state/local agencies.

     Promote awareness of neurodiversity and inclusive community development.

    Governance

     Collaborate with the Board to ensure effective governance, strategic planning, and

    compliance with legal and ethical standards.

    Day to Day Operations

     Supervise and evaluate staff

     Support contractors and volunteers to maintain a high performing team

     Provide oversight and management of all Farm Stand Operations

     Provide oversight and management of Microgreens production and sales

    Qualifications

    Education/Experience

     Bachelor’s degree in human services, nonprofit management, social work, psychology,

    business administration, or a related field required OR a minimum of 5 years of

    progressive leadership experience in the nonprofit, human services, or disability services

    sectors with a proven success record of program development, fundraising, and

    community partnerships.

     Experience working with or advocating for neurodiverse individuals strongly preferred.
