    Descripción

    The Climate Solutions Coordinator (CSC) position reports to the Senior Climate Solutions Analyst. The CSC helps promote the long-term goals of the organization by performing programmatic assignments, such as project coordination and development, grant writing assistance, and capacity training to assist under-resourced communities prepare for climate change.

    Responsibilities

    Leadership & Management

    • Assist in the execution of several key programs and partnerships, upholding the organization’s standard of excellence and reputation in all activities
    • Report to the Senior Climate Solutions Analyst and other project supervisors on a weekly basis to debrief activities
    • Reports to Senior Climate Solutions Analyst for annual review and performance evaluations
    • Curate, cultivate, and offer feedback on work activities
    • Meeting or exceeding defined deliverables on fee-for-service or consultant projects
    • Tracking project budgets and expenditures

    Programmatic

    • (25%) Coordinate Climate Resolve’s Shine On program to advance cool surface solutions through a multi-pronged approach, convening a collaborative of key parties including teams of working groups for: Albedo Project(s), White Paper, Policy & Communications, Technical, Finance, and International.
      • Task management for internal and external tasks with Asana
      • Attend and facilitate note-taking during all meetings (both internal and external)
      • Assist with the planning and hosting of Quarterly meetings and internal meetings
      • Support the planning of working group meetings with working group leads, as needed
      • Create and maintain synergies across working groups and other projects across CR, such as data sharing and providing project updates
      • Oversee and update Sol Collaborative platforms such as Hubsite, Slack, and Google Drive spaces, and Airtable with relevant information
      • Manage and continually improve the Airtable database with participant engagement outreach data, hosting intake form submissions for new participants, and measurement and tracking of key data points
      • Assist working group leads and CR team with fundraising efforts
      • Lead grant writing and reporting to funders
      • Participate and lead Sol Collaborative engagement and recruitment of new participants across the working groups
      • Event planning for quarterly meetings and large events such as Climate Week New York, Summer Workshop like Reflect Effect, and more
      • Share expertise with CR teams on cool surfaces and share relevant resources
      • Assist in the development of communications materials and coordinating consistent messaging across outreach, engagement, and communications efforts
      • Represent the Shine On initiative at panels and conferences
      • Assist the Policy and Communications Working Group with California-based advocacy efforts
    • (35%) Support the following tasks for Climate Resolve’s Ready for Tomorrow, No Cost Grant Writing Assistance Program.
      • Manage and update the Status of Municipal Climate Preparedness Matrix
      • Research federal and state grant opportunities and assess which grants to pursue;
      • Review new responses on the Ready for Tomorrow Airtable Intake Form and schedule intake meetings with interested participants;
      • Conduct interviews with potential grant writing clients, such as municipal agencies, community-based organizations, and tribal entities;
      • Provide Grant Writing Assistance to municipalities in pursuit of federal, state, and foundation grants for climate planning
    • (25%) Energy & Water
      • Coordinate day-to-day execution of project activities, including email follow-ups, project management through Asana and Google Drive, tracking deliverables, and ensuring quality communication standards with project partners.
      • Compile, clean, and maintain documents related to projects and participant engagements.
      • Facilitate participant engagement and partnership building: tribal governments, local communities, technical experts, regulatory agencies, funders, and implementing partners.
      • Maintain regulatory awareness: support compliance with Climate Forward program, methodologies and registry requirements.
      • Contribute to communications and outreach: Prepare briefing materials, slide decks, newsletters, public presentations, and updates to share program impact, lessons learned, and successes.
      • Develop familiarity with carbon crediting / registry standards (ACR, Verra, CAR) or nature-based climate solutions.
      • Manage multiple tasks, adjust to shifting priorities, and work collaboratively with the team's needs.
    • (10-15%) Support in ongoing Climate Resolve efforts, such as:
      • Outreach activities, including the TCC South LA project
      • Research activities, including data collection in the field
      • Attend policy meetings, conferences, and other events relating to climate adaptation and mitigation
      • Liaise with project-specific funders and partners, serving as a professional and congenial representative of the organization in all activities
      • Assist in gathering and creating reporting materials to various grant-making organizations
      • On occasion, and in collaboration with the Communications Manager, generate media and communications content related to project initiatives for public dissemination, such as original content for newsletter, website, blogs, and social media

    Qualifications

    Required

    • A Bachelor's Degree
    • 2-3 years experience in program coordination in the nonprofit, private, or public sector
    • Knowledge and ability to communicate about climate, transportation, land use, and/or public health and planning standards
    • Proficiency at being collegial and collaborative, forming and maintaining partnerships with diverse parties and constituencies
    • Understanding of project coordination and budgeting functions
    • Effectively executing performance- and outcomes-based programmatic activity
    • Unwavering commitment to quality programs and data-driven program evaluation
    • Experience engaging and incorporating the perspectives of multiple communities, including communities of color, into the impacts and outcomes of decision-making processes
    • Ability to handle and prioritize multiple assignments, working well under pressure
    • Strong written, verbal communication, and research skills
    • Self-directed, flexible, and able to work under tight deadlines
    • Demonstrated commitment to equity and inclusion principles
    • A positive, can-do attitude and the ability to work well on a team, as well as independently

    Preferred

    • Experience with data analysis, emissions/energy monitoring, or climate vulnerability assessments preferred.
    • Strong analytical thinking skills
    • Working knowledge of communications and media platforms such as Canva, Instagram, and Facebook

    Compensación

    $2,500 in annual reimbursements for cell phone and internet expenses for home office, $500 home office furniture stipend in the first year, $100 monthly transit commuter benefits, a matching 401K contribution, medical insurance coverage, generous amount of holidays, a professional development fund and more.

    Nivel de Idiomas

    Preferred, not a required: candidate who speaks a second language commonly spoken by Angelenos Spanish, Korean, Mandarin, Cantonese, Tagalog, Japanese, or other. Particularly a plus if candidate speaks Spanish.
