    Descripción

    Hope Floats Healing and Wellness Center (Hope Floats), located in Kingston, MA, is looking for a dynamic person to join our team as the Development Director. This person will play an integral role in sustaining our mission of helping individuals and families who are grieving, dealing with illness, or facing other life challenges. Our programs include free peer-led support groups, bereavement support for children and families, school outreach and support, and professional development training for educators.

    POSITION SUMMARY

    Hope Floats is seeking a compassionate and strategic Development Director to plan, implement, and manage all development activities to support the mission and sustainability of Hope Floats. This will include working closely with the Executive Director to plan, manage, and grow our fundraising efforts. Both an annual fundraising and multi-year strategic development plan will be formed to grow corporate, foundation, and individual donors, as well as other gifting sources while expanding networking. The director will report to the Executive Director and the Board of Directors.

    This is a 30-hour position with a flexible hybrid schedule, and two weeks paid vacation.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Development-Fundraising Strategy & Execution

    • Develop and implement a comprehensive annual fundraising plan; meets measurable outcomes and monetary goals
    • Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward individual, corporate, and foundation donors
    • Analyze ongoing donor activity; maintain, trend and report performance metrics
    • Manage donor database and ensure accurate record-keeping and timely acknowledgments
    • Monitor and analyze fundraising and donor data along with the Executive Director
    • Collaborate with grant writer on the grant application process; become familiar with grant database and process of recruiting prospects
    • Collaborate with the Executive Director and staff to establish new fundraising campaigns, and manage volunteers and committees when warranted
    • Expand networking such as through local Chamber of Commerce, hospitals, and other organizations

    Events & Campaigns

    • In collaboration with the Executive Director, co-lead planning, and execution of fundraising events, including the annual Memory Walk and other community-based initiatives
    • Coordinate annual giving campaigns and donor appeals

    Communications & Outreach

    • Collaborate with staff to create compelling fundraising materials and donor communications as part of a fundraising plan
    • Represent Hope Floats at community events and networking opportunities

    Board & Volunteer Engagement

    • Work closely with the Board of Directors to support fundraising goals
    • Engage and support volunteers involved in development activities

    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in nonprofit donor development and fundraising, including securing major gifts, corporate, foundation, and individual giving
    • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in nonprofit management, communications, or related field
    • Proven success in donor cultivation and management, and event planning
    • Proven success in fundraising and prospecting
    • Strong written, verbal, and technical communication skills
    • Proficiency with donor management software (e.g., GiveSmart or similar), and campaign tracking tools
    • Ability to connect, in person, to secure engagement with corporate and other donors
    • Embraces leadership and accountability
    • Demonstrated ability to work individually, collaboratively, and cohesively
    • Deep commitment to the organization’s mission, values, and community-centered approach
    • Valid driver’s license and transportation

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Familiarity with the South Shore community and local philanthropic landscape
    • Experience working in grief support, mental health, or wellness-related organizations

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Ability to lift to 50 lbs.

    Compensación

    Two weeks paid vacation.
